-Liverpool is out of the title race. They're not good enough, and they are getting punished for their anti-football. Shut down one-trick pony, and you'll be allright. The decline incidentally started after the Barca game.

-Chelsea is out too. They're not consistent enough. It boggles my mind how they can decisively beat teams like United, Newcastle and Liverpool, and then lose to at home to Sunderland.

-Leeds are going to be a main contender. It's good to see Fowler fitting in so well. He's scoring goals for fun, creating chances, and if he continues this form he'll be in the WC. Funny when he scored the fans where chanting "Are you watching Liverpool " Their drawback is the lack of experience; hopefully we can capitalize on that.

-Arse will also be a main contender. They've got the pedigree, the personel and the hunger. I think they will slow down a little once CL resumes again thou. And we have to beat them @ OT.

-If we win decisively tomorrow, we can safely knock Newcastle out of the race and establish ourselves as one of the three teams that will fight it out. A draw would be a setback afte 5W in a row, and a loss would be catastrophic. 6 points are @ stake, let's go get em.

I wouldn't rule Liverpool out just yet. They've still got lucky deflections and referees to aid them even when they're playing badly.

One other way to play against Liverpool is to give them the ball and watch them wonder what to do with it. (mind you, and that's not a wind-up but the opinion of their tmporary manager in charge)

I know, and that's why they've lost all credibility in my eyes. Thomo can say whatever he likes in regards to his plyers being superb (obviously to increase their morale, make no mistake about it), but that phrase tells me that Thomo has admitted they're a 1-dimensional team and that they're not good enough yet.

I also think they will need to win a couple in CL to qualify; and we all know how good LFC fares when they have to attack. The Barca game was much more significant than what I thought at the time.

It's between Arsenal, Leeds, and us. Liverpool have lost form at a crucial point in the season and will have a hard time catching up if and when their form improves. Newcastle and Chelsea will probably drop just below Liverpool imo.

I wouldn't write LFC off just yet. The whole season is crucial, there is no such thing as a "crucial point in the season" except for the run in if it's tight. Our bad run was just as crucial as LFCs and we turned it round, admittedly we are a better team. It's still a long way off and I'm not fully convinced we are as good as recent results would suggest. Maybe I'm just feelin a bit too pessimistic.

...if houllier comes back, liverpool wll turn it around. right now, players like murphy, heskey, and gerrard are really missing the influence he has on them. plus, we're still without the services of vignal, barmby, and redknapp, all of whom should help us improve our passing.

btw, i think arsenal are going to be real hard to beat. pires, vieira and henry are on fire at the moment, and they have the experience needed to sustain a title challenge. leeds are still too kamikaze @ the back, as mills and harte are rather poor defenders. chelsea are too inconsistent, and liverpool has just been consistently shite of late. i'm still not convinced by your lot either, as you haven't beaten arsenal, chelsea, leeds or liverpool. and what happens if rvn gets hurt?

We can still beat the other sixteen teams and win the league

Your problem is you can't beat those very same sixteen teams

If you actually think those three will make a difference, you must be joking

Anelka, Litmanen and Owen could be the solution as Litmanen is the only player that has any creativity in your midfield. But that is probably too offensive for Liverpool. Wonder if they will sell Litmanen for 1.5m, they got him for free didn't they and have been treating him badly. Wouldn't mind having him at all.
