The above is from a recently published survey of fans conducted by the Football Supporters' Federation, i was thinking that we could have a poll and debate over the coming days for a few of them.

For my part the the support for a salary cap and hwo we should deal with abusive language, are two that stand out.

I often wonder how a salary cap would work.

Would it be a set standard for any given league, with a maximum limit that all clubs can afford within the league. So the top clubs are capped at the same limit as the bottom.

Would it be set as percentage of a clubs years income, so that a club can only pay out 40% in wages from what they earn etc. Although we could pay higher than the lower clubs.

Or is it as simply as saying no contracts over £100k.

91.1% want the choice to sit or stand - Shocked at how many want the choice. My dad mentioned about United's away fans standing yesterday, and I told him it's part of going away, and that all teams do it. His response is that we're not allowed and it ruins it for people, and I said that if you're not prepared to stand, you shouldn't go. You know how it's going to be, thousands of fans all stood up vs the odd couple who want to be sat down. He was utterly perplexed by that and had a go at my arrogance, but this would suggest I'm in something of a majority.
74.4% are in favour of a salary cap - Only if it's applied worldwide. The standard of English football would dwindle to that of the second or third tier of European leagues.
58.5% have watched a game illegally on the web - Again, a bit surprised. I'm one of them, but over half? I'm surprised half know that it's even possible.
51.6% think 'swearing & abuse is part of watching football' - Sort of. It's an incredibly passionate game watched by incredibly passionate fans, it is part of it.
46.6% have experienced 'unfair treatment' from stewards
45.0% have missed a game because kick-off was moved for TV
40.5% are attending fewer games than in recent seasons
17.7% believe referees are getting better -
12.4% think Wembley semi-finals are 'a good idea' - Not surprising this number's so low. Millenium, Villa Park, OT, Etihad, Emirates. They could all do it, I think it should depend on the teams. United and City travelling down to London was a joke.

My thoughts.
