Liverpool linked to Sofiane Boufal

According to Foot Mercato, Liverpool are prepared to offer up to €20m for Lille attacking midfielder Sofiane Boufal.

LFC have watched the player more than 10 times over the course the season by sending scouts to his matches.

Dortmund and Inter Milan are also interested in the Moroccan international, according to the report.

Lol, I'm not a pundit. I think he could be successful there. An offensive midfielder with very good technical skills. 22 years old.

Excellent stats in the French context: 12 goals + 5 assists.... much more than the striker Origi who also played for Lille

If Payet & Hazard are able play in the UK, so I think he could do the job at a decent club like West Ham or Liverpool.

Ounas in the EPL? A big No. Boufal in the EPL? He is ready imho.

@JPRouve @BBRBB : any views?

Sofiane Boufal will leave Lille this summer
Speaking in an interview with RMC, Lille manager Frédéric Antonetti revealed that star attacking midfielder Sofiane Boufal will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Antonetti had the following to say on the matter:

“Sofiane Boufal will be leaving the club at the end of the season, we are actively looking for his replacement.”

This suggests that a deal may have already been struck with another club. Valencia, Tottenham and Inter Milan have been strongly linked with the player in recent months.

Boufal is talented, really talented but he has struggled with consistency. He is better behind the striker but has enough speed and talent to play wide too, he is probably ready to go abroad and showcase his talent.

He is good and Lille want to sell because they need the money, they want €20m+ but could settle for less.

A midtable EPL club would be a good option for him to prove his worth. He has very high technical skills but may lack a bit of physicality to reach the elite level.

Interesting. Have to say know nothing of both of them but Ounas is 3 years younger and from what I read Boufal is even smaller in size. What's the issue with Ounas? As we're heavier linked with him rather than this guy.

I see. Saw some videos of Ounas looks pretty decent.

My modest opinion is just to say he is not yet ready to move abroad.

How many failures at this age are required to get one success story?

Boufal is simply older, ahead in his development and ready for a move while Ounas hasn't outgrown Bordeaux yet and would benefit from starting most games instead of warming the bench of a bigger club.

Another thought on Boufal: I'm not sure if English refereeing would suit him very well.

Yeah. Something like two or three reds and ten yellows from a winger suggests he'd benefit from a total, absence of refereeing. I could live with that though, looks extremely talented. Ounas looks a fterric player as well though and either or both would be good business.

Reminds me a lot of Coutinho. Spurs were linked a lot to him so I gave him a watch. Can't tell if I'd love him or hate him. Loves to dribble around and have a shot, but isn't that creative and can be a bit too selfish. Can't tell if that's because he's Lilles best player and feels like he should just do it himself or that's really the type of player he is.
