Last time I looked we were in with a shout, not a strong shout but a good shout. We've got to perform to our capabilities in some tough matches but we're more than capable of beating Leeds and Chelsea away and ARSEnal at home.

A win against ARSEnal would put us two points behind, if we win all of our games (which we had to do before the Boro game anyway) and ARSEnal draw then we'll be top on GD depending on what Liverpool do or don't do.

It ain't over by a long way and all of this talk about not derseving to win in is rubbish, the team that wins it deserves it, end of.

ARSEnal are favourites, which is fair but we're still in the mix. Football is a funny old game and alot can happen is six games, alot more can happen in the 8 that ARSEnal have got.

You tell em Check..

All you have to do is win all your games, including against the likes of Arse, Chelsea and the Dirties and hope that ourselves and Arsenal feck up....

The Title's basically yours...

;)

We had to get results at these places anyway, what's changed?

I'm not suggesting it's ours, but it would be a foolish man to say we're not capable of the run of results required. We'll know a lot more come 2 o'clock on Saturday.

Now you have to get results and rely on others..

A lots changed..

I didn't think you'd win it before this weekend..

Suprisingly I still don't.. ;)

I'll bet you now that both Liverpool and ARSEnal drop points from here to the end of the season.

All we can do is win all of our games, if we do this we'll be champions imo.

You are only 1 point ahead of us, we win all our games and you drawing 1 of your remaining games puts us ahead of you. Similarly, if ARSEnal lose to us, we only need them to draw another to put us ahead on GD. Not really beyond the realms of possibility imo.

I suspect that all three teams will drop more points than those mentioned above, anything can happen and it usually does in football.

Check, I live in hope and no more than that. Basically, we won't win all our remaining matches, which I reckon we will have to do to win it..

Sad but true

Its certainly not impossible I grant you..

But of the run ins your's is the most difficult..

and you're already playing catch up..

Have to see how badly the Pires injury affects the Arse

Check, you are indeed made of wonderful stuff! I do not disagree with anything you have said and although down in the dumps I may be with the thoughts of looking at Sami Hyypia or Tony Adams holding aloft the PL trophy at the end of this season, you have indeed lifted my spirits.

TBH, though I wouldn't really care too much at not winning the PL (which we still can!) if we were to lift the CL Cup at the end of the season.

This craic about not deserving to win the league I agree is complete toss! If United to go on to win the league (which we still can!) then we will be more than deserving of it.

It will not be because Arse threw it, or Poo' got unlucky, it will be because we pulled an 11 point gap back last November and through adversity. We clawed back to where we should be and deserve credit for it.

BHManUNut, it's been a bad weekend. It's a tall order but we can do it. Cast your mind back to December when the vultures were out, we did it then and we can do it now.

How many times have so-called reds written us off this season already?

Well said. Hand on heart I don't think we'll do it but we're not out of it yet. My one consoling thought at the moment is that this feels like a season with a few twists and turns in it yet and I don't think Arse and Pool will get to the end without slip ups. The problem is we now have to win every game. But if we do... Christ it'll be the best title of the lot. We Are UTD without any doubt... and the fat lady hasn't even warmed up yet!

i can gurantee you that if we win our last 6 games the league is ours. loonypool always find it tough against weak opposition who play the defensive game, they do.

Arsenal still have spurs , us and a few tough games.

loonypool have derby, Ipswich, Tottenham, Charlton, Blackburn, Sunderland , to many this may seem as an easy run , to all the realists we know this is one tough challenge for the fools.

i think it will all boil down to the last game of the season Man Utd v Arsenal. anyone remember last years game ????.

But, you probably thought that way for the last decade. If you are correct, I suppose 3 out 10 years must make your mother proud of her football genius son. ;)

A couple of questions on the serious side though. Do you think that the Arse have an advantage of not being in CL QF? If Liverpool fail to capture the championship this season, what effect will it have on next season? ( We all know that winning the PL will have a huge impact on Liverpool's confidience going into next season.)

Can someone explain how Liverpool can win the PL 3 times in the same season and we took 9 seasons to win 7?

If my memory is correct, the Scousers pronounced themselves winners of the title on:

1. The day we lost to West Ham and they beat Boro.
2. again on the day they beat us at OT.
3. Now, after beating Chelsea, us losing to Boro and Pires injuring himself, they've *again* "won the title"...

Isn't it amazing how they can win so many titles in the same season?? <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" /> <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" /> <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

Poo will bottle it for sure. The likely key is the Arsenal game which we are quite capable of winning.

Then again I might be biased.

I dunno how the CL exit will affect the Arse, could obviously go one of 2 ways - tho Sat's performance suggests that they're not going to mope. The Pires injury could prove to be more of a blow ,as he's obviously been superb and they have no replacement. I still reckon they'll win the title tho...

Re confidence, I don't see how it can be measured? Not just for us but for all the title challengers....

I fully expect Roy Keane to be lifting the Trophy at the end of the year.

Liverpool are in a hot patch but like Liverpool FC in the past they never can substain it and I expect them to stumble. Liverpool will get the wobbles and the run in will be a mental hurdle which they will not be able to meet.

The loss of Pires for Arsenal is massive. I do expect Arsenal to be there or there abouts on the last day, but if UTD beat Arsenal and if Ferguson keeps Veron for Europe than I expect Keane to Lift the Cup on the last day with a point between Uts and Arsenal (if not goal difference) with Liverpool 4-5 points behind.

As for the CL I think Liverpool are in a more favorable position than Utd and have showed they know how to play the 2 legged Tie.

Well its all before us. We must win so we will give everything we have. If we dont the last week will be agonizing as liverpool and ARse both will play not to lose the title. Pool has had their share of luck this year and because of this they may just pip it. ARSEnal are favs because they have the games in hand and they have been there before in this circumstance. If we win them all and we still lose the crown then whomever wins it will deserve it.

i love the opptimism and i agree that we can still do it, sometimes we actually do better when the chips are down.. we sometimes just explode into life when the pressure is on.

Having said that, it does seem more likely that we will slip up, leeds are a very good counter attack team and im very fearfull of fowler. Chelsea are capable of beating anyone on their day and arsenal are also a powerfull force, i think we are bound to drop points - so will liverpool and arsenal, the problem is that we will all probably drop roughly the same number of points (something like 4) which will leave us a bit short.

Blackburn and sunderland are totally capable of beating liverpool.

Ourselves, west ham and sunderland are capable of getting resluts against a sans-pires Arsenal.

I think that arsenal will finish top just about.

and, i think we have to respect the fact that liverpool, losing their manager the way they did have done amazingly well to stay the distance, they might not have played the most entertaining football but they didnt fall apart like many teams would have under those circumstances and although i hate scousers you have to respect them for that.

predictions are nothing more than predictions so lets just enjoy the drama to come. There is nothing in the world that brings out such passion as the beautifull game.

i love it when we're the underdogs! ;)

United aren't out of it but a lot needs to happen for them to win it.
United's form against the top 6 is dreadful but maybe that will change in the Leeds, chelsea, Arsenal games.

Arsenal without Pires may stumble and Henry in my opinion is a bit of a bottler in crucial matches.

In the past i would have said Liverpool would have been well capable of bottling it. However, I think that the current LFC squad is made of stronger stuff. Last years run in for the treble and the CL position will give them some experience of a pressurised run in.

We can do it, whether we will win it is a different matter entirely, but we are still in with a shout. If we can snatch a win from Elland Road and Arsenal and Liverpool fail to win, we would have a big, big chance. What worries me is if we lose tomorrow and the other title hopefuls win, SAF may have a dilemma. Would United concentrate on winning the CL, thus resting their players, or keep going.

even if we lose v leeds we would still be playing the rest of the games with what alex thinks is the best team, after all, runners up is a prize in itself, all be it second best.

The only time I've given up on Unted was sitting in the Nou Camp as the 90 minutes went up on the scoreboard. And Fergie's memorable response.."football...bloody 'ell"
Long way to go yet. It's not even the 90th minute!
Don't leave too early.
