This is not the end of the world but I still wonder why Fergie played unfit players in his 4-5-1 again??

Why change if ain't broke.

Ruud is obviously off form and shouldn't we know by now that lone striker system doesn`t work.

If you read his biography he had the same thing with his clubs in Scotland. Everything goes mess up when he try to play lone 4-5-1.

For Midfield Fergie is torn by his loyalty to Scholes, Veron and Keane. He got to leave one of them on the bench.

Those hard work against Arse and Poo are gone and we are back to where we were again. :( :( :(

Ruud off form... judging from his last 2 games yes, but this match it was hardly his fault. How many times has he touched the ball in this match and how many of those were in a decent position? How many chances did he have, zero...

Ruud's form is off, he was left isolated today and hardly had a look at the ball. Most of us on here could have told you exactly what was going to happen.

My fear is that we'll approach the game the same way on Saturday. He needs a partner. Play Ole with him. Or play Diego with him and leave Ole on the right. But give him some help.

no one complained when we played it against arsenal and won, at the end of the day we cant critisize the system we play, to put it simply we did not perform. fullstop

During our recent great run, I know that a lot of the papers were saying we were playing 4-2-3-1. I know it's only a slight variation on 4-5-1, but the important thing is I thought Ruud was getting a lot better support up front and we started scoring again. He didn't look nearly as isolated to me as he had in the past. I actually thought the system could be a nice compromise between 4-4-2 and 4-5-1.

I don't know what happened today. I don't know if it's because Larry was back and the whole team always tends to defend deeper when he's playing and it made it more difficult for the players to get forward to support Ruud. Or if it's because Keano was back, and he's not match fit yet, and it unbalanced the side. Or maybe too many players simply underperformed today. But this was a totally different side from a couple of weeks ago. It looked very uninspired and the football wasn't pretty to watch.

For Saturday, I'd like to see Fergie go back to the team from a couple of weeks ago. Keano needs a couple of more matches before he'll be match fit and Phil's been doing a good job for us. I think he/Seba have started to develop a good understanding so there's no need to rush Keano back before he's ready. And I'd like to see the back four again that's done so well for us these last few weeks.
