AS usual, much of you are following the media hype line and deliberately missing his point. All he is saying is that after 18 games,it's too early to rule out other contenders such as Chelsea and LFC (though after yesterday's result at Sunderland,I'm beginning to question whether LFC will challenge this season,I only saw a bit of their game and they looked poor). That must be sensible surely? After all,he doesn't want to motivate either of them them by suggesting it will again only be a 2 horse race, particularly,as we are due to play both of them in the next fortnight.
As for your performance against us,no arguments as to the result, but his point as to the style of your play that day was valid. It reminded me more of Liverpool circa 2001 than the classic Man Utd style of play.

Just accept the fact that you've got a little bit frightened 'cos the relentless red machine is in your rear view and it's making you a little jittery. That's always been the problem with ARSE.
No balls for a fight. I remember the mighty Denis Irwin kicking lumps out of Limpars head in the famous OT brawl of 88/89.
We made it too easy for you last year, but this season - you're fecked 'cos Fergie's smelt the FEAR!!

He appears to have changed his tune aftersaying that Arse would go the season unbeaten. That was a little premature.
What he is diing is showing his, and his teams nerves, and loss of confidence.
And as far as the style of play is concerned, we have always been willing to scrap it out when nessecary, something that the Arse don't appear to be

Don't make me laugh
b) I think you're memory of that match at OT is faulty. The 'big brawl',as you put it, was just handbags, sparked by a bad foul by McClair on Winterburn leading to Thomas/Davis/Rocastle getting 'stuck in'.The Arsenal players that day were actually regarded (unfairly in my view) of being overly aggressive which was why we were deducted 2 points compared to your 1 pt.
c) If any team lacked 'balls' it was your lot at OT in May,when even your psycho captain criticised the team's performance that night comparing it to 'men against boys'.
Ronnie, why not try and come up with something a little more intelligent than this moronic drivel ?

You must admit, though, Wenger looks like he's got a feckin hairbrush up his arse in this past week. Fear in his eyes!!
I said we beat ourselves last season and that's the only reason you won the title. Your 'decade of dominance' has lasted one season, again...
We were too busy fighting each other last season to fight you, and you know it really.
Aren't you just a little bit afraid??
C'mon - admit it. We're behind you........................BOO! 2-0. [/QB]

Its a fair shout that though we had a great result against you we didnt play what we'd class our anything like our best football.
SAF's tactics on the day out foxed Wenger. He played 4-2-3-1 and the "2" stopped Pires and Henry having the space to turn and run at the back four. It really was a superb ploy.
We cant expect to play our most fluent football, we have too many flair players out. What we have got back is willingness to graft and belief in ourselves.
I talked about watching out for the wound MU beast and this is what we've seen of late.
Now we've got our confidence back the flair is starting to return also; we stroked it around superbly against Depor and West Ham.
We WILL get better than we are playing at the moment.
I also appreciate your comments on Wenger not wanting to rule out other contenders with you playing them soon.
Any way you want to slice it though, we're flying and we're only going to get better
Merry Christmas !

True...you are playing well at the moment. It must be a bonus that O'Shea/Brown and Silvestre appear to have provided a strong defensive base (which was a weak point of yours last year). With young players ,they can often come in to a team and play blindingly well for a couple of months but then lose form.So I expect that O'Shea might need to be rested in the new year,so it will be interesting to see what happens then.(I do think in this past month or so,O'Shea has been the star of your team)
I think Chelsea will be there to the end this season ,so they shouldn't be ruled out, despite their traditional brittleness, although I can't see Zola,at his age, keep his present form for much longer.
But,if I had to guess,I'd say it's down to us 2 again.Do you agree?
One last point, and a slight change of topic......What the hell has happened to Liverpool??I'd be interested in a Manc's view, any ideas??
Oh,and Merry Christmas to you and yours too, thanks!

Chelsea are much more of a threat than the dippers. It looks like Zola(frankie dettori) is having a bit of an Indian summer and he's fecking class so......it's be interesting how many points you drop over christmas cos you've got some tricky games coming up.
Houllier has taken the granny stabbers as far as he can. The players seem to be not willing to play for him and give hime their all and when that starts happening, it's a slippery slope. Gerrard and Murphy are flirting with each other constantly, Hypia dropped, Owen entering dressage contests week in week out.
And, of course, the gooners slipping around in their own shite........the futures bright!!#
Merry new year

Don't even try to compare your achievements(??) with ours. You're a once in a blue moon team. Only one good vintage in every ten years. Great teams do it agin and again and again. You've just done it once.

i did keep saying we no chance of winning it until we actually did for the first time in 26 years, since then we should have won the title every year (but u cant have everything eh?)

O'Shea has been our 'find' of the season, Scholes and RVN are ahead of him in terms of shining IMO.
Chelsea probably realise that this is great opportunity to challenge. Net season they will have to replace Zola and Desaily which is no mean feat.
I'll try and offer a balanced view of Liverpoo, but you have to understand that its not in my nature ...
Poo fans have been getting all excited and their expectations have gone thru the roof. I see a large squad of players, many of whom are playing above themselves - carried along on recent success's. With the right spirit it happens. I liken them more to Wimbledon than to their own former glories. I'm not atall surprised that they've come unstuck, I'm just surprised it took so long.
An example of my theory is that results effect their next several performances. I.e. losing to us has really knocked them for six, whereas us losing to Siddy has had the opposite effect. If they beat Everton they might get back in the running. If they lose, then its goodnight Vienna
How was that? I tried !

Twice in 5 years is not bad, considering we finished runners-up the other times. You know ,you should get some perspective here. You Man Utd fans have been unbelievably spoilt. There are 20 teams in the Premiership and success for most of them is either a)avoiding relegation or b)a European place.
Success didn't last for the Scousers in the 80's and I believe it won't last for you either. That's just football...it goes in cycles.

Different world now, m'boy. You cannot be compared with the 80's mickeys team and UTD of the 90's.
You need to dominate your domestic league for a decade or more. ARSE are not in control of their destiny - the two occasions you have won the PL we have thrown it away, so even when you won it, we won it for you.
If, in ten years time, you are still managing to compete on every level with UTD, you should think yourself very lucky. And if you hve won as much as we have in that time, you will become a great team.
Arsenal are not a great team at the moment. United are a great team, have achieved great things and are still the team to beat in England.
It must really infuriating for you.

Hmmm...wouldn't disagree with much there but I still hold to my view of O'Shea being the star. All too often defenders tend to be underrated when compared to attacking players.
As for the Scousers.....I tend to agree that ,although they have a large squad, their players with a few exceptions lack top quality.Too many journeymen in their team, whereas those players I do rate (Owen/Dudek/Gerrard/Hyppia/Hamann) all seem at one time or another to have had their confidence undermined by Houllier.
Too early to write anyone off, they're only 5 pts behind us (and 4 behind you)....but they do need to sort themselves out.(Hopefully ,only after we play them at Anfield on Jan 29th )

O'shea is Irish and will fight to the bitter end. Rest??? he has it after every match. Just like Keano, and Best before him if you are waiting for O'Shea to need a rest then fair play to you, but be warnes he wont need a rest the guy is fantastic, full of skill and energy and can play anywhere. Well Liverpool's players have watched themselves on TV of course, and most of them have become so bored watching their style of play that they have actually never woke up again.

I'm not questioning his determination. It's just that I reckon he will be rested at some stage by Ferguson if only because young players can be overplayed ,resulting in a loss of form and confidence.
But never mind...there's always Rio to replace him

Not exactly, but I don't think he is the world class player he's hyped up to be.In fact,O'Shea impresses me more than Rio did at his age .
I might be wrong, but O'Shea is one of the most exciting defensive prospects I've seen in a long time (He reminds me of a young David O'Leary)
