So I am getting a free PS3

Indeed I am. Not overly bothered as I don't see the need in having 2 consoles (I have an Xbox) but its free so I aint complaining and it also means I can get rid of my Blu Ray player which is fairly slow at loading up movies. So that is a good thing.

I have won it through a promo thing from a supplier we have in work so I will gratefully accept the prize. Unfortunately it will not be with me for about 5-6 weeks.

So I want recommendations of PS3 exclusive games which I may gather if they are cheap whilst I am waiting. Not interested at all in multi format. Apart from Unchartered and Metal Gear I am not familiar at all with the console.
 
I reccomend you put it in the post to me you lucky double consoled spoilt twat.
 
Good point Weaste. And I would still play Mario to this day if I had my old Nintendos back

It's hard to give recommendations but those listed are a good place to start. If you've a gamestation closeby you might get a bargain or two
 
Sell it and buy some Airfix kits and luxury craft and paint set.

Weeks of fun, frustration and a sense of achievement. Much better than annihilating Liberty city over and over again.

I am pleased. It was just that having an xbox too not sure if I can warrant owning 2 consoles. My missus won’t be happy!!

I have heard about Killzone before. But I have a lot of FPS on the xbox. Is it significantly better?

Saw the thread about God of War. I never played any of the series and that I must say looks amazing.

i won the lottery. I wouldnt mind but i was given the ticket. In a way its nice because i'm rich. it's just i'd have liked to have bought the ticket

But seriously you don't have to tell her. If you sold it, you could get a slim and give her £50 to treat herself. everyones a winner. or you could use the money to buy games ..choices choices..

OK, been reading a bit about games available.

Is it necessary to play part 1’s of Unchartered and God of War or OK to dive right into the new games?

Also I used to love Wipeout years ago what is that like on Ps3 (reviews seem positive)?

And what is infamous like?
 
I would recommend you play the first Uncharted before the second, purely because it's a great game. If you dive straight into part two you certainly won't be lost, but you will want to go back and play the first, meaning you won't appreciate the improvements the second has to offer.

I haven't played any GOW games, but I'm currently waiting on the GOW Collection arriving, so I will be playing through the first two before starting on the third.

I haven't played Wipeout or Infamous, though I hear very good things about the latter.
 
Nothing to do with the thread but I'm getting a PS3 tomorrow, already have an XBOX as well.

So it looks exactly like it did on the ps2 only in HD now.

if I'd known I would've never played Discworld, Lemmings or Microcosm. All dirty scouse games as it stands.

I paid £275.00 for a 120gb slimline, with Call of Duty 4 and Fight Night Round 4 last September. Still looks like a pretty good deal.
 
You can get second hand PS3s on Ebay for as cheap as £170/195 Euros.
