So Browns injured again...

I don't know if broken bones and raptured cruciate ligaments are signs of being injury prone or just totally unlucky.

Mexes? I don't know. We probably needed a defender before Brown was injured, we definately need one now. But we need a bit of experience, and I'm not sure going for another young player who can offer a lot now but is more of a long term player would be right.

Problem with Brown's injuries is he has so many serious ones so young. You have to wonder what all this is going to add up to in a few years. We need a settled centre-back partnership and Brown getting crocked every 5 minutes is not doing the side any favours. (Sorry Wes).

What about Boumsong? Right-back and centre-back, and can play in midfield should a mass injury disaster occurs - like Johnsen? French under-21 international, he sounds the part.

Don't know him. Who does he play for?

Personally I think Van Buyten (the giant) would be a great addition. He's the stopper that would allow Ferdinand to sweep and bring the ball out of defence. He'd chip in with goals too (from corners!).

Poor Wes, he deserves better than this! I'm sure he'll be back for us at the beginning of the next season.... Come on Wes!

Van Buyten's name has been around for a while - might bear a ring of truth to it - but from what people have said on this board he's nothing special.

Totally agree, we definitely need someone who is more experienced. Fergie has already confirmed that our defence's lack of experience is one of the major reason why we were beaten by Real. Players such as Ayala, Sammul, Tudor, etc. may be good purchase for us.

wonder if fergie might go for desailly on a short term basis and then bring in mexes or boumsong to be groomed.

Desailly said he is going to retire after next season... I think he is too old even for short term. We need someone who can play at least 3 years for us. After that Rio, Wes and John will get enough experience to replace him.
