Criminally underrated, IMO. Don't hear a lot about him nowadays, but for my money he has written some of the best songs of the past couple of decades. I tend to keep going back to his albums long after I've gotten sick of much of the new stuff out there.

Any of you lot fans?

He is.

Amazing songwriter, just a shame he isn't more popular. He featured in High Fidelity and all.

A mate of mine sent me an MP3 cd with almost all of his albums a while back. Best present I've received in a long time, not that I advocate software piracy.
