Firstly, my father-in-law is a Sky subscriber and they have made the mobile/computer service free to subscribers. The idea is if you are a customer, you can watch the channels you subscribe to on the internet while you are out of the house. It basically translates to the fact that you can share your subscription with others who are not subscribers, ie. me.

So I've got it working, watched the last couple of matches on it and it sure beats streaming sites. Great quality and no drop-outs. It looks good enough fullscreen on my 32" TV without complaint. It's not much worse than ITV4 usually is.

Anyway, my problem is: I have a dual-screen set-up. If I put my browser onto the TV screen and stick SkyGo on fullscreen, as soon as I try to do anything on the other screen, the video minimises. Anyone know why? Or how I can continue to keep it fullscreen while using the computer as normal on the other screen?

I haven't used SkyGo but the same thing used to happen with SkyPlayer.

To get around it, instead of using fullscreen you could choose the option to open the stream in a separate window - which you could then move to whatever screen you wanted and then maximise. It would then stay maximised no matter what you did on the other screen.

Whether you can do that on SkyGo or not, I don't know.

Turns out firefox was preventing the popup window opening. Got it to work now but if you go fullscreen with that and use something on the other screen I end up with the web address panel visible. Suppose I'll have to live with it.

Yeah that's a drawback, but I don't know any alternatives.

I take back much praise because it fecked me right over today. Could not even sign into it (why the feck does it even need to sign you out?) and just spent the last couple of hours getting "connection reset" messages. Missed the whole match.

You should probably pay for Sky then. :annoyed:

No thanks. Anyway, the actual Sky subscriber who lets us use this was here and should have been able to use the service he is entitled to to watch the game. I think they might have underestimated the demand.
