Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
I can't get cable in my area or a satellite dish on the side of my house (listed building or something) so i've signed up for the Sky Player via my Xbox.

It's £34.40 a month and for that I get Sky Sports 1 to 4, Sky Sports News, Sky 1, some content on demand (which looks pretty rubbish to be fair) and a load of shit channels i'll never watch.

The picture quality so far is good, not really a noticible difference from Freeview on my 42 inch plasma and i've not had any breaks due to buffering yet.

It does take about 5 seconds to change the channel though.

Anyone else use this? Any good/bad feedback? It's month by month so i can cancel at any point.

It's absolutely wank.

The video quality is shit, the buffer is slow when everyone is watching the footy. Even though your a fully paying customer they still sometimes just don't let you watch programs and instead play you the sound with a " Sorry this programme is not available to sky player customers " message on screen.

The only good thing is the glowing remote you get with the pack.

Pack? What pack? I just signed up online.

There was no buffering problems when I watched the Southampton game earlier, maybe no other fecker was watching that though. The game tomorrow will be a tester.

If it is shit there is no minimum contract term so it'll only be £34 down the drain.

I have to agree with Chutney on sky player (sorry to hear about the ordeal last night btw) I buy it on demand whenever we play in the CL and the buffering is sometimes worse than the illegal streams some vagrants use.

Bt vision is good, plus they've managed to secure a great deal with Sky this year.

I had it last year, it was good but didn't have Sky sports (only ESPN at the time) so I was not really using it at all and cancelled it.

Now they have Sky sports i might go back if this sky player turns out to be as shite as everyone seems to think.

Problem with BT Vision is, no goddamn ESPN America, that's kinda lame. But it's good, my sister has it at her place.

What? The channel isn't for Americans, it's for Europeans who want to watch American sports, so being American is somewhat irrelevant and so is actually being interested in it, you pay for ESPN then you should get ESPN America also, most of the other suppliers gives it from my knowledge, so what not BT Vision?

Why would you need that channel unless youre actually interested in american sports?

Im just assuming that duffer isnt an american and wouldnt have much interest in espn america...

That's true. I have a passing interest in NFL from back when it was on Channel 4 in my youth and The Fridge was the man!

Im sorry i just dont know many non-americans intersted in american sports.

It's utter utter shit, but as a student in a student apartment it was the only option to have it in there and despite it's overwealming shitness, I'd say it was worth having.

Don't rely on it for big games though. During United vs AC Milan it just flat out stopped. Buffering problems for the Liverpool game even on low quality.

Huge issues with 'registered computers'....I only use the 1 and it listed it as 5 or 6 so I kept having to ring them to get it reset.

Crap Customer service.

All for not a lot less than what you'd pay for full Sky.

As another note they're offering free skysports on skyplayer to anyone who has a Sky sports package on their telly (so find a mate, register it under his name, you'll need his viewing card number, and then you get free sky sports on sky player until December on your computer)

Can you login into multiple computers at the same time, with the same account?
