Sky and Test Meatch Special still haven't secured the rights to the India series

TV and radio coverage in England of the forthcoming Test series in India is still in doubt as the new rights-holder is asking for higher fees.

Nimbus, who paid $612m (£352m) for rights to India's home matches until 2010, reportedly wants £5m from English TV and is in talks with Sky.

A BBC radio spokeswoman said: "We're still in negotiations with Nimbus."
BBC cricket producer Peter Baxter said: "$612m is a phenomenal sum of money and they want to claw back some of it."

The clock is ticking on negotiations as the first Test begins in Nagpur on 1 March.

Sky holds exclusive rights to all of England's home games after signing a new four-year deal in 2005, and has shown England's overseas Tests for over 10 years.

But it could face competition from Asian-run TV channels in the UK, such as Sony and ARY Digital, which is broadcasting India's current tour of Pakistan.

If it lands the rights, Sky may also be forced to use presenters and commentators chosen by Nimbus rather than its usual team.

A spokesman for Sky declined to comment because of confidentiality contracts signed during negotiations.

I'll have to take your word on that one.

I may have run out of cricket lingo.

Oh, wait...

"Hit For Six."

Other than "Aussie cnut" I think that's about the limit of my repertoire.

"Aussie cnut" is a good one, you must admit.

I actually know a lot more about the mechanics of cricket than just about any other person born in the South of the USA. I just have no way to watch the game.
