Skins USA

We have Shameless premiering in January and Being Human sometime in 2011 too.

Skins USA should shock alot of people and Eisley is doing it I think. But it looks like a shot for shot remake which is just weird.

I'm all for taking influence but seriously what the feck?

That's line for line the same as the original.

supposedly, the first episode is identical to the original, but they start to change it for the rest of them. And instead of Maxxie, there's a gay female cheerleader.

So they pirate the idea and keep the story line the same atleast change it up a bit so we can enjoy it.

At least its bound to be better than the last 2 series of uk skins. I mean it cant be any worse

Looks wank.

Just like the British one, but a bit more wank, as it's American.

Apparantley this started tonight. Not like I'd know, they didn't broadcast it here.

My Girlfriend's sister got down to the last audition for Skins Series 5, something like the last 12 or 18 from 5,000 in Bristol and 12,000 in London. You can imagine how gutted she is to not be in it and she says shes not going to watch it but I bet she will seeing as she sort of knows the cast.

Some of the local actor types where I live went. None of them got through the first audition. Probably because bar a couple they're largely talentless gimps.

I've only just found this thread, that is exactly the same as series 1 but with different names

It's back on the 27th over here isn't it? They better not try to make it too serious again.

She's not that sort of type, she does drama at college but it's not like its any sort of recognised stage school. She did say though that there were loads of that type there and they were all really trying to "act" like they were a bit too cool and edgy but they weren't really looking for that. They were more trying to find people that were actually like the people they had written the scripts for so it was more natural than trying to find 16 year olds that could act out these characters straight form the off.

This lot all go to the local theatre group/school thing that puts on productions every now and then. From the people that I know went there was a wannabe emo, a wannabe emo, a wannabe emo, an actor and an actor.

The ending of the fourth series was probably the worst attempt at ending a series I've ever seen.

Penultimate episode: I wonder what happened to Freddie
Final episode: Oh Freddie's dead. "IM COOK" *end*
After: What the feck happens to Effy and Cook?

There was literally no closure to anything.

Indeed.

but I did burst out laughing uncontrollably at "I'm fecking Cook!

They might allude to what happens at some point in this.

And on that acting thing above the characters in this should seem a bit awkward, more realistic for the age group.

The first lot of characters all went somewhere, the second had about 3 uni candidates and the rest were all thick as pigshit.

Apart from Effy, her mental friend and Thomas don't they all fail everything?

Only Cook seems to have a reason to feck off as he seemingly kills the doctor bloke

There's just no way that they can capture the dynamic of the first series. That cast just had something special about it and they couldn't really do the same in the 2nd cast either. These new kids are fecking pricks, and not it the Cook way either.

Apparently MTV are having a stroke over the Chris episode. They think they might be charged with child porn because Chris walks down the street naked

I never watched any them properly, just the odd episode, however the guy who gets killed by the psychopath was very satisfying (shame they didn't show it) he was one of the most annoying characters of any TV show, ever, they should of killed his friend as well.

Freddie was a complete prick. I don't get why they all have to do drugs.

Skins wtf!

Just awful.

only watched the first season 3-4 episodes but I am watching it again ever.

Skins was originally good when it didn't take itself too seriously. The first series had a really fantastic humorous undertone. Then it just became pretentious, quasi arty farty bollocks.

The pilot for the US version of the Office was very similar to the first episode of the UK version, but it deviated after that and managed to hold its own (at least until the last season). I'm sure Skins will have different plot lines.
