Spurs, Arsenal, Manchester City, United and Everton set for battle over Croatian kid Sime Vrsaljko

Dinamo Zagreb youngster Sime Vrsaljko is being tracked by several Premier League big guns, according to his club vice-president.

North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal, both Manchester clubs and Everton are interested in the 18-year-old defender.

The full-back has also been linked with major clubs on the continent and Zdravko Mamic said: 'Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton, Bayer Leverkusen, Sampdoria and many others are after Vrsaljko.

'Some clubs have already spoken to us, many others are calling us for meetings and to watch Vrsaljko in action live, and yes, some clubs are already here.'

Arsenal are aslo reported to be monitoring Vrsaljko's 16-year-old team-mate Mateo Kovacic.

Anyone seen him play?

He's no Ljajic. =[

He's just 18y old and already one of the best players in Dinamo and just got first call for the national team. He plays RB but can play LB also. Has great pace and stamina, excellent in getting forward, and he's like a bound of energy on the pitch, always giving 100% and no wonder Dinamo supporters adore him despite being first team member for a just a half year now. Could and should be great player,he has all the talent in the world, but he's far from finished article and don't see him as someone United would go for giving the options we have on postion of RB.
And something else about him, when recently asked about Arsenal and United interest,he responded that when plays playstation,he doesn't play with neither of the two,but with Real Madrid,so...

Dinamo Zagreb claim they have rejected an offer from Arsenal for prized assets Sime Vrsaljko and Mateo Kovacic.

Full-back Vrsaljko, 18, is considered one of the best defensive prospects in European football and has most of the Premier League and Europe's elite chasing him.

16-year-old Kovacic is a highly-rated midfielder, and Dinamo have revealed that Arsenal sent a delegation to Croatia to try and do a deal for the pair earlier this month.

But club vice-president Zdvravko Mamic has stated that he has shunned a €20million (£16.9million) offer from Arsenal.

"Ten days ago we had an special visit in Zagreb," Mamic told Sportski Zurnal.

Sharp

"Here were people from Arsenal and they were ready to pay 20 million Euros for Vrsaljko and Kovacic.

"But they are to stay in Dinamo, Arsenal just wanted to buy them for the future. But my answer was sharp, I said 'no' in one second."

Mamic admits he is gambling on the pair becoming even more valuable in the future.

"While I have space and no problems at our bank account I can take a risk," he continued.

"Yes, I know I'm playing with luck but so far I am winning. I believe it will be the same in the future."

I doubt Arsenal would spend that kind of money.
