Two top pieces of news on this link and just think 2 years ago some reds were showing Micky the door and now their showing it to Giggsy

Silvestre is a good player, I think that when he arrived, people expected much more from him than what he was producing - He was making mistakes all over the park

Reminds me of Stam in the first season we signed him, he was all over the shop when he started playing, he then went on to be in my opinion one of the worlds best at the time

Ive always said that given the right chance and coaching, Mikey could be the next Roberto Carlos.

He has blistering pace, strength, power and accuracy. If he worked on his concentration and retaining possession over long periods of time, he could be a legend.

His mistakes have been few and far between this season, which is a good indication for the future!

I would give him the central defense role this season while persisting on J Oshea on the left.

This could save Manutd from spending loads of money.

It's not going to happen - read SAF's comments today. We need Mickey's pace up the left flank - it's absence was probably a factor in Giggs's no show on Sunday. Plus don't forget Rio and Blanc will be back soon - meaning we are well covered in the centre of defence.

I regard O Shea is a fabulous defender who had showed us that he had played well as left back, while I regard Micke as better Blanc ( read Blanc as first teamer topic before critising me)

About Giggs I wont point my fingers to O Shea regarding his no show against Liverpool. Giggs is passing from a bad patch and we all know it.

So 30 Mill on a central defender wasn't a lot of money?

But Giggs just won't go wide who ever is RB, I really can't understand why not. Whenever he does then all sorts of chances happen but it's so rare these days.

Jraby Rio costed a lot but you must agree with me that Manutd will have to spend (next year) on at least

One experienced CB (Instead of Larry)

One left back

My conclusion is that If O Shea and Silvestre prove their worth in their new positions, we would be in a good position of not spending money next season(in the defense).

Of coarse it will also depend on New talent sensation Tierney

i hear chivu is becoming available at the end of this season. he would be a solution to the departure of Larry IMO. can play both LB, CB, and provide plenty of competition in the back line.

Chivu and Kaladze are my chosen options.

But I have watched O Shea and even on the left he looked solid enough

Great to keep Silvestre in our team because he is a very energized player and his game are getting better and better.

I didnt like Silvestre when he first came to United, but he has proven to be a very good player, and the guy can only get better. Good news
