First up, this is not a criticism of any of the crocked or banned players so anyone planning to slag Veron, Blanc etc feck off and do it in one of the countless whingeing threads.

Given the commitment and performance shown by the squad in the last few games and the battling way they have earned their wins, should any of the first teamers who are on their way back be guaranteed a staring berth or should they have to start from the bench and in training and push their way back into the reckoning.

I personally believe that the likes of Brown, O Shea, Forlan and Fortune have earned their places in the team and should not be displaced by Blanc, Ferdinand, Veron, Butt, Beckham or even Keane immediately on their return. It sends out the wrong signals to both the dumped player and the replacement, Keane himself has said that some of the players need a shake up and maybe a few weeks fit but on the bench with a few sub minutes will improve the hunger of all the players.

Ole and Scholes' performance are convincing enough to keep their place. However I'm less certain about the others. I think Keano and Blanc are nearly certain to regain their places once they're fit, because although Fortune and Brown are performing well, they are certainly not good enough to keep Keano and Rio out of the team for long.

While I believe no one should just get a place back automatically...

I'd still want Keane back in there the second he's back, even though Fortune's done well.

As good as Fortune was yesterday i would play Veron in the Arsenal game, maybe even Veron & Fortune in the middle with Scholes up front.
Id also play Larry in the Arse game as hes allways dont well againstg Henry but then again Silvestres pace and good recent displays in the middle might be the tonic there.

I think we should keep the back 4 as yesterday. Wes is staring to show signs of what he's learning from Larry and Silvestre looked awesome. JOS looked solid at left back and Gaz looked looked back to his best along with Fabian. Changing the team for saturdays game could disrupt the balance of the team. I think they all seem to be gelling for a change and seem comfortable with the positions they are playing in....Giggs was disappointment yesterday but he did ok overall.....

i would be tempted to put silvestre on the left and bring back Blanc, we still need his experience..

Its going to be another battle against Arsenal... we need the midfield to stay strong again.. i think Fergie will keep the same side.. (he did say so before the match yesterday..... )

Explain please? Why do we need his experience? The Silvestre Brown partnership did well I thought, very well.

the Liverpool match was all about, not over commiting and staying strong in midfield, against Arsenal.. we'll be expected to attack more down the wings, like against Newcastle, so thats where Silvestre fits in, he was excellent in that game, and i don't doubt that he's can do it again......as much as i like O'shea, he's not in the same class as Silvestre going forward....... Blanc will fit in the middle, where he's also done very well, lately... remember the chaos when he went off against Newcastle? he'll be the right choice if SAF makes the switch... which is possible, coz with silvester on the left, it will be the same starting line up that started against Newcastle.. and we didn't play too bad in that match n'all.( except gary neville, he has to start on the right).

yes.

but midfield was equally solid, which helped the back four.

fair point.

but it wouldn't surprise me if, SAf switched Mickey back.. just to give us extra down the left..

depends which type of game we play, either, it'll be like against newcastle or a battle like the one yesterday..

anyway, vieira and campbell are missing, iam sure that'll help our cause... <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

Don't hold your breath.

I wouldn't change anything, particularly I wouldn't bring back Blanc or Veron as Arsenal are the paciest and most physical side in the league.

It's a difficult choice, but I prefer to bring back Blanc and Silverstre back to LB because:
1. I really miss Micky's going down the left wing.
2. Although he played well in the centre in last one and a half matches, I still not totally convinced that Micky will make CB his permanent position. In a big match like this we need everyone on their best and most familiar position.
3. Micky and Wes partnership is too inexperienced. We can well use Blanc's experience in such a big match.

You shouldn't change a winning side unless you have to.

Not just a winning side, but one that is starting to gel.
