Should SAF have retired?

A pretty hotly debated topic, eispecially after that shareholder blew up at SAF at the AGM, in my opinion, he should have gone in 99 on a high. The longer he stays, the longer it will take for United to recover.

Cant I have an opinion?

Your opinion is partly based on one divvy at the AGM.

I did not say I agreed with that twat at the AGM. I disagree with him, I love Fergie and Veron, all I am saying is that the longer he stays the more the players get into a comfort zone.

Yes, but also the same could be said about Scholes and Neville G this season

Scholes in the comfort zone? <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Neville in the comfort zone? <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Expound your interesting theory.

Where does comfort zone come from?

Is it Ronglish?

Perhaps not Scholes but definately Neville G. King Ferg is always harping on about his proffessionalism but he's not playing with any fire or passion for the United colours. What do you think of the 4-4-1-1. I hate it, people are always critisise Veron for always playing long balls into a sea of defenders up front but it is not his fault. It is 1 against four.

The man has played three.

Not enough for full fitness.

Your theory is not very good.

oh well, all that matters is our results, and to date they aint been too good

2000 was also a high because we won the league by miles. And 2001 was a high because Fergie won the league three years in a row, and won by miles again. 2003 might be the biggest high of all because so many people have written us off.

The myth of Neville's awful performances this season are is all down to the derby mistake. He's been just fine beside that.

maybe SAF should have left after winning the trebel.. to keep his legacy..

but staying on will show his true character.. if he can make something out of this team again then he'll show the world once and for all that '99 was no fluke. that it was pure genius.

i think SAF stayed because he wanted to do it the second time and maybe the third. to cement his place in the records book.

If SAF can turn this current malaise around & come out a winner he will be more legendary than ever...more so than if he had just left at the top with ease IMO...I think its really exciting & what Man utd is all about. Next fortnight is going to be interesting! <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

it's november for christ sake!! If anyone who is prepared to write us off, it should be the ABU. In the past, at times, i thought SAF might be a bit harsh on the press (calling people idiots etc and banning certain ppls)but the more you read about the seagulls', you just have to side with SAF.

The crux of matter is, is there any other candidates who can fill his shoes if he just retired as originally planned? The fact that he has a great track record DOESNT necesscary mean that he MUST be winning every season! You may not like his formation, his choice of team etc etc........ but one thing you must know is, as far as i can see, and legitimately, no other replacement can come in and win just like that. The special relationship between the players and himself is not something that can be established overnight! And that special relationship (and of course his man management skill) is crucial for winning. Players like beckham, like keano and the like.... they play for SAF.

i have grave doubt this year SAF is not going to prove his doubters wrong! the injuries list is not something that other manager can come in and prevent, right??
