On the one hand it sets a dangerous precedent and would permit refs to take some very suspect drugs

On the other, they are not competitive and if it led to more durable and alert refs then they'd surely make better in field decisions.

So should it be allowed?

I can tell we're in week 2 of the international break.

The only thing I want is to get fair decisions from them.

I've never heard of one failing a doping test, so for all we know, aren't they?

For sports? no. For personal use? maybe. I might take it next weekend before going into caravan club.

Quite obviously refs aren't drug tested so they are allowed to take PEDs. Since they are allowed and they don't look like they do, maybe the question should be: Should referees be required to take PEDs?

Should just replace refs with AI. And give it an accessible interface so fans can abuse it directly if it gets a decision wrong.

John Moss should absolutely have been required to take PEDs so he could keep up with play. Or retired a decade earlier. Or found another calling to start with.

I don't think focus-enhancing drugs are a good idea for officials in general though, as most of those have side effects that could make them even worse at the job. Read an essay written by an adderall enthusiast and you'll see that they don't tend to think clearly so much as just plain weirdly. Maybe some form of electro shock treatment would reap more rewards? It should definitely be trialled at the very least.

A shock system attached to their nuts and a probe inserted up their arse. The intensity of the shock depends on how good or bad their decision making is deemed to be.

Lots of little good decisions or one really good one and it might make them jizz their pants.

Too many bad decisions or one really bad one and it releases their bowels.

If it helps them relax before a big game I see no issues with it.

My favourite combo is the Sour Mix flavour with the Mario head.
