inspired first post. who you support btw?

how many City fans are only fans because they were tone deaf enough to think Oasis were good?

Yes, but when Garys career is over, he would have played for England, played in the World Cup, won the Champions League, the Premier League, F.A Cup,

just like Shaun Goater.

Hes a nobody, a nobody.

Yep.. the picture tells the whole story, City fans celebrating 3 points. That is all some of them have ever been able to celebrate. Most of them have never seen City win a trophy. So when they win a match they go nuts. And if it is against us they go fu..ing haywire for about a month. We will be back. <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

Hear hear!Beating us is more like winning the treble treble to them and they have taken 13 years to prepare for this day! They have probably watched our players on video for 100s of time just for this day to happen. Too bad we have let slip like this!! :( Just too upset to write anymore.... Needing badly a shoulder to cry on......

Giggsygirl.....I won't be too hard on you....(it's easy to gloat :D ,but you know I'm not like that ;) ).As someone whom I nearly bought a smirnoff ice for,I'd assume you might be more magnanimous in defeat......but ,really, what's Oasis got to do with the price of fish !!??

no offense mate but your opinions would have to be of some consequence to me before i would take a tongue lashing of yours to heart ;)

i was merely trying to identify the difference between someone who actually supports City and those who got on board post "Live Forever" because the British mentality is it's "cool" to root for the underdog - think Monty Python's four Yorkshiremen:

"Well, of course, we had it tough! We used to have to get up out of the shoebox in the middle of the night, and lick the road clean with our tongues! We had to eat half a handful of freezing cold grubble, work twenty-four hours a day at mill for four pence every six years, and when we got home, our dad would slice us in two with a breadknife!"

p.s. how does an Arsenal fan gloat about a City win <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

My opinion on the City win is this - for such a club, winning an ordinary Premiership game against Manchester United is like winning the League, FA Cup, Worthington Cup and European Cup all rolled in one.

What does that say about Manchester City? It says that they have been down the dumper so long that a win against Manchester United is some kind of magnificent achievement to cherish forever.

If that is how they get their jollies, good luck to them. It simply shows their mindset and why, come the end of the season, they might be fighting relegation again. Even if they won`t be in that position, it is hard to see them doing anything other than surviving in the Premiership.

So some City fans are more equal than others??Well,I don't buy that. The moral distiction you try to make is mere sophistry on your part...under your political correctness gone mad theory,I'd guess few City fans would meet your criteria to allow them to enjoy the moment of victory against you lot.

Well,it may be British to identify with the underdog but this hardly explains the huge surge in the Man Utd fan base over the past decade demonstrating, actually, that what most arriviste followers of football(fashion?) want is to identify with the top dog and not the under dog .
To be honest, and assuming there are such fans as you describe (which,as I said,I don't ) I would have more time for the new fan who supports City (because they are the underdog) rather than those glory seekers who 'support' Man Utd.

As for Monty Python,an enjoyable piece of nostalgia, thanks for that, though a somewhat tenuous link to support your 'theory'.I guess ,your attachment to Monty Python suggests you are a woman of a certain age? ;)

But no hard feelings,Giggsygirl,as always,I enjoy the badinage.....and the Smirnoff Ice is still on offer ;)

As for gloating....well,let's describe it as schadenfreude......OK? :D

Girl,
They were in the Second Division three years ago when you won the Treble. Show a bit of empathy and realise it's not so strange that they're delirious on having more or less caught up with you a few years later...

Says a lot of which way you're going too, don't you think?

TRM.</strong><hr></blockquote>More or less caught up with us??? What planet are you living on? The MASSIVES will never catch up with United, they can never match us in terms of history and class. If you think that one victory means that they have caught up with us then you must be sadly deluded. Just see if you think that they've caught up with us when the trophies are handed out in May and they are facing relegation <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

I meant on the pitch in pure footballing terms.

Do you think the fans in that pic care even in the slightest bit that you have a huge Asian fanbase with massive merchandising potential?

They only care about the game, let them have a bit of fun, after the misery they've been through you can hardly blame them for celebrating a win against yourselves, who were flying high when they were playing Stoke City, just a few years ago?
