AC Milan fixed Sheva's price @ 57 million quid.
The funny thing is that Madrid says they're still interested.

Bloody hell.

All the more reason to buy him NOW. Even if he's going to cost 17m or so, the investment will be justified in the long term.

AC and Inter are lining for Becks, and if Sheva goes, AC will buy Becks, no doubt about it.

It's going to be a hot summer.

Lazio tried that with Nesta, and Perez told them to feck off.

I'm not sure that we would let Beckham go unless it was for an unprecedented amount such as 35-40m, and even at that amount I'm not certain I would want to lose him. If we really need to generate that type of money, I'd rather it came from a combination of sponsorship deals and the sale of other players like Yorke, Cole, Scholes etc.

becks must be off to AC Milan, i can't imagine Inter sponsored by Nike buying Becks(adidas).

back to Real.. if they buy Sheva and possibly Vieira, how the feck are any team in Europe going to be able to compete with them? I know big names doesn't necessarily equal success but the potential will be frightening

I wouldn't let him go either. Becks too important for United. The plc might think otherwise.

Alaves is doing just fine ;)

Ain't going to happen in Spain. Depor is in turmoil, Valencia is fairly weakened, and Barca is a fecking joke. Madrid will just cruise into La Liga.

In Europe, they could get stopped only by Bayern, and possibly by United or Juventus.

Hmm, I heard it reported earlier that Milan had rejected a $100m bid from Real Madrid.

It looks like Shevchenko will probably be in Spain next year. Raul wants him as a strike partner, Perez wants him, and I think Madrid are willing to pay that much. If this story is correct, the only question is whether Shevchenko wants to leave Milan. He's probably the most popular player there right now.

I think Sheva for 60m BP is a better deal than Zidane for 50m BP. Shevchenko is much younger, doesn't save his best for the national team, and will integrate more easily into the side.

Madrid will probably get Vieira as well. The result will be as good as any team in the world.

Iker Casillas
Michel Salgado
Fernando Hierro
Francisco Pavon
Roberto Carlos
Patrick Vieira
Ivan Helguera
Zinedine Zidane
Luis Figo
Raul Gonzalez
Andriy Shevchenko

Juve said they were not going to sell ZZ either, but the whole transaction was done in less than 3 weeks.

His strategy is well rehearsed. Perez unsettles his man by talking him up in the media, then chucks about a few astronomical figures. Rival clubs soon run the white flag up the pole. It worked with Figo, it worked with Zidane, and it will work with Sheva.

whens this supposedly going thru? during this season or thru the summer?
