Only in Canada. Pity!
I have just seen the 3 episodes of this series and thought it was brilliant and a great "reboot" of the series. It was very clever and funny and I enjoyed it much more than the movie effort which was a bit silly. I hope they make more episodes.

I think they are making more. Only seen the first two episodes but they were very enjoyable.

Just stumbled upon this. Watched the first "episode". It's really more of a trilogy. Thought it was very good. Highly enjoyable.

When he told Mr.Watson he was gay, was he sarcastic or serious?

I've only seen the first episode. If you are referring to the scene in the restaurant I don't really think he said he was gay. Rather that people assumed Watson was gay, perhaps because of his association with Sherlock. Might well be true but he didn't admit it really, did he?

Why aren't there more people called Sherlock?

I know of a guy called Turloch Holmes. No joke.

Looking forward to the new 3 films/episodes

Far better than the Guy Ritchie Movie from a few years back

Benidict Cumberbach and Martin Freeman are both excellent in it

Only 3 new episodes again then?

I've read and watched all the Holmes stories but still found that series to be a great watch.

I think they annonouced it'd be 3 x feature lenght again

I think I'd rather that than a series of 30 mins Eps. I also read there will be a lot more Moriarty in these ones

Edit.... Yeah only 3 Sherlock (TV series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

4 1 "A Scandal in Belgravia"[49] Paul McGuigan Steven Moffat 1 January 2012[52]
5 2 "The Hounds of Baskerville"[49] Paul McGuigan Mark Gatiss TBC
6 3 "The Reichenbach Fall"[49] Toby Haynes Steve Thompson TBC

Saw the first season in one sitting. Great show, great writing and fantastic performances all around. Can't wait for S2.

Cumberbach is a more plausible, faithful modern Holmes. Downey Jr is a virtually unrecognisable figure, but fun in his own way. Martin Freeman is also a good Watson.

Downeys Holmes is just a Victorian action figure, a Batman for the times.

Just got around to watch this. What a brilliant take on the characters/stories. Couldn't believe they pulled the modern settings for Holmes stories that well. Can't wait for the second season that's right around the corner (watching the first season this late has its benefits).

I've been waiting for it for a year now.
Didnt realize how long these things take. Making a pilot, getting approval and filming the series
They shot the pilot in early 2009. The first season was aired in mid 2010.

Fan-fecking-tastic.

Very good stuff, though the very final scene was a bit farfetched.

Cringed a bit at the password, but all in all it was great fun.

Haha, yeah that was a bit much but it was fantastic episode over all. Makes the wait (i think its been two weeks since i saw the first season ) well worth it.

I don't know why but Cumberbatch kept reminding me of Robert Webb during that episode, which kept bringing to mind the sketch of Sir Digby Chicken Caeser sketch from Mitchel & Webb, kind of spoiled the seriousness of some scenes.

Just watched the season 1 and now the new episode, all i can say it is absolutely brilliant-loved it!!

Was the Jeremy Brett series consistently good? I'm in the mood to give that a watch now.

I dont think so. But maybe, I've just finished the new one, so I'm on high right now, but cant think of anything better.

(Oh and I love the Sherlock stories, always had)

In terms of classic detective mystery it's definitely up there, falls a bit short compared to something like The Wire though.
