Moby —-------------——————-vs.—————-===========--------------- 2Mufc0
Vs.
Team Moby
Formation: Zona Mista. A homage to the main man of my team: Giacinto Facchetti. Rarely does this absolute colossus of a player get to be the absolute highlight of a team, in a sheep draft setting where you are likely to have an unpredictable mix, it was a fair decision to give the man a well deserved limelight and give him the entire flank to wreck havoc.
Not that the team isn't otherwise filled with impact makers and an array of talent that should be able to function really well together. The team revolves around the tireless Facchetti, the maverick Koeman, the commanding Keane and the mercurial Zico.
Right at the back we have England's finest between the posts. Only Gordon Banks rivals Shilton's body of work and contribution to English football with the gloves. Shilton will be guarding the locked defense with Koeman marshalling it as the sweeper of the team. Incredible passing, reading of the play and organising at the back, big game player. Ruggeri and Ferrera flanking him, both well versed in their roles as lateral centre backs, on their favourable sides. Providing the steel to Koeman's silk, rugged physicality and faultless marking. And lastly, Facchetti, the marauder. The one man force down the left, and back up in a flash. Lockdown defender of the highest calibre.
In midfield, we change up from the previous setup and bring in Fernando Hierro as the defensive midfielder. A powerhouse at Madrid over the years, Hierro was world class as a centre-back and as a defensive midfielder, the ideal hybrid that is required in that position to plug the gaps between the midfield and defense, as well as one who is able to slot as the sweeper when Koeman drives into midfield. He will bring his renowned elite long range passing, reading of the game and a strong physical frame to contain the threats in that area.
What it does is, releases Roy Keane from the full fledged DM role into an all action box to box midfield general. I am quite excited to allow Keano play in this role, one of his attributes that is often overlooked is the ability on the ball and drive going forward, something I expect to come to the fore, as well as the benefit of being at the heart of the game, being able to perform both in defensive and offensive phases equally and absolutely marshall the team. He'll be a massive contributor from this position and should be able make a huge impact on the game.
The second addition was Roberto Donadoni, the Milan and Italian veteran takes up the right sided role, a much more familiar presence for him being the tireless workhorse on the flank while also providing the inch perfect crossing and passing, well capable of joining the attack as a scorer or a creator.
Capping it all off, is Zico. At the heart of the attack, the orchestrator, the extraordinary goalscorer, bringing it all together.
Del Piero takes up his natural position of the inside left channel (can't be arsed with more Italian), and the devastating pre-injury Del Piero who could turn a game around in half an hour, yet selflessly allow everyone else around him to shine and take the team forward. With an Facchetti supporting him on that side, they should be a handful. Lastly, the team needs a finisher, and we have one of the finest. A bucketful of goals at the highest level is what defines the French legend of Fontaine, especially his performances at the NATIONAL LEVEL.
The players share the grafting mentality required in the counter attacking formation like this one, all well versed in playing till they dropped and getting their teams past the line by hook or by crook.
Similarly, on the ball, a selfless team philosophy where everyone will be ensuring that the sum is greater than the parts.
Players having roles that come to them naturally, ensuring a high level of predictability of performance and in the end, they should get the job done without much fuss.

The formation graphic is pretty self explanatory, all of the players are playing in positions they are comfortable in and are of high quality. I believe my team has a blend of power, speed and skill with Didi at the centre of things. The wings are covered by 2 deadly goal-scoring wingers and spearheaded by one of the best centre forwards in the pool.
I have brought in Seedorf to add a bit more energy and tenacity into the midfield, his all-round skillful and energetic game will provide something different in the midfield. Also partnered with Voronin it should give a good base for Didi to run the show.
The front 3 will be serviced by Didi in the final third and also from deeper potions with Seedorf and Voronin. This makes the team deadly not only in general play but also on the counter, esp with the pace of the front 3 and the tireless overlapping fullbacks.
In defence, i have upgraded my LB by bringing in Evra, if Moby plays the same formation as last time he will only have Donadoni to contend with which i think he is capable of handling. His surges from left back will also stretch the opposition for the deadly Stoichkov to exploit.
Like with most of the teams i draft, the philosophy is to play football and be adaptable depending on the match situation, the only special instruction in place is for Voronin to keep an eye on Zico when he's in those dangerous pockets of space infront of the defence, a job he is more than capauble of
