shearer and lennon?

remember a few years ago shearer kicked neil lennon in the head in a toon v leicster game - shearer was england captain at the time - zero punishment, zero public outcry - zero full stop.
why then is it that keano is hung over a less serious act - irish? Man Utd? being man utd's greatest ever - remember shearer has never being an angel. - and for those of you who knock roy - clear off, i wouldnt call ye fans - understand the meaning of "united" and understand there'd be no treble, no double , nothing compared to what we have without our general.

Shearer was not stupid enough to tell the world and his wife that he premeditated to kick anyone. There - that's the difference!

I may love Keano more than you but I won't classify him as Utd's greatest ever.

Hes definitely one of them. Good point about Shearer though Baz.
Whats the difference in Keane admitting it and Shearer saying nothing about it? Getting punished for telling the truth! Does anyone think that Shearer didnt mean it

I don't think he went into the match with the premeditated intention of waiting 85 minutes, then kicking Lennon in the head. That, regrettably, is what Keano is making money out of saying.

They had a quite a few scuffles in the past if i remember correctly, you cant say Shearer went into the game not hoping to get a dig @ Lennon.

if keane were english, which would mean that he would obviously be the england captain how do people think keano would have been treated by the FA (concidering the shearer cover up etc) and by the media.

i would have thought that the FA although would have punished (unlike shearer) but not as hard as they are going to and the fecking media scum who are crucifying keane at the moment (not that its bothering him i'm sure, its mearly entertainment for those who don't know better or are bitter or stupid) would have kept their filthy holes shut.

Robson was great but he was out injured too much and although he led by example I dont think he got the best out of the players around him. Cantona was great but again he led by example and he really only bollocked Andy Cole. In the last 20 years the 2 best I have seen are Keano (for obvious reasons) and Bruce. Bruce was not a naturally gifted player but he gave everything and demanded everything from those around him (like Keano does) and if it means shouting at them or rollicking them then so be it. :D

Succes wise Keane was best but thats unfair on Robbo. I would have loved to have seen Robbo in a succesful team, he deserved that. Thank god he was still around in 1992 and he did contribute well that season, remember Norwich away <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />
