You've only won once since you met us on Oct 13th - unlucky date or are their other reasons for your poor league form?

Key players missing......and being financially so poor ;)

Drawing with Chelsea, Poo, MU were good results
Beating Spurs was a good result
Drawing with Villa was OK in the end with 10 men
Losing to the Mackems was bad
Bearing in mind how many times we gave the ball away Fulham should have won...so a point is OK

Key players missing. So you are saying that DOL hasn't invested his £96m wisely?

BTW - Viduka OUT = Ferguson IN.

That's what I've heard. They did try a Jenus bid with the change from the £60m loan but he wants to stay put and Forest value him at more than the £3.5m offered.

1. Debateable if it is 96M and dont forget to take off what we have got in from sales.
2. Ferguson who?
3. We bid 4M for Jenas
4. The money spent has been very well spent...just look at what various parties are talking of offering for certain players and what DOL spent on them.
5. Woodgate, Bowyer, Bakke, Bridges, Radabe, Viduka, Kewell, McPhail...being out for various reasons obviously weaken DOL's options.

1. Still £70m deficit
2. Barry Ferguson
3. You bid £3.5M for Jenas
4. So how come you still can't put out a good side? How many O'Leary buys do you think will have increased in value?
5. Probably only 3 of those would be first choice.

that obviously depends on whether he has spent 96M
2. Barry Ferguson
Please provide link to this news

bid was 4M

Who says we can't put out a good side...lying third and only losing once suggests we are.
5.How many O'Leary buys do you think will have increased in value? 6

6. Probably only 3 of those would be first choice
4 I think...but thats the whole point of having a big squad it is interchangable

1) He has...

2/3) No link, just the info I've received

4/6) You lost a few key players around about early October and have won 1 games since.

5) And they are?

Mills
Dacourt
Viduka
Matteo

Dacourt slams stories
LEEDS United's French midfielder Olivier Dacourt has rubbished reports that he wants to leave Elland Road, with Juventus poised to move for him.
The 27-year-old is reportedly a target for the Italian giants because he is unhappy at Leeds, but Dacourt says nothing could be further from the truth. He said: "There have been some quotes, supposedly from me, saying I want to leave Leeds and I want to say to the fans that they are rubbish and totally untrue.
"I am very happy here and I will not leave. That is definite. I don't want to leave because I believe in this team and I want to do something great here.
"I have never said I am unhappy at Leeds. I have a new contract and I know my place is here playing for this great football club.
"The signing of Robbie Fowler shows how much this club wants to enjoy success and he will be very important for us.
"I want to tell the Leeds fans that I am very pleased to be here and that I do not wish to go. It's very important for me that the fans know I am happy here and want to stay."

Brett Emerton

Ridsdale closes in on Brett
LEEDS United are set to continue their expensive team building by completing a £8m deal for Feyenoord's Australian midfielder Brett Emerton.
Chairman Peter Ridsdale will fly to Holland to try and thrash out a deal for the powerful wide player, as he tries to steal a march on the likes of Arsenal, Blackburn, Liverpool and Newcastle to sign the player.
Leeds are desperate to sign Emerton as they are struggling to adequately cover Lee Bowyer's absence on the right of their midfield, and with Bowyer out injured until the New Year and a verdict expected soon on his high profile court case, Leeds have decided that the time is right to move for a replacement.
Emerton indicated at the weekend that he wants to move to the Premiership and the Elland Road club is his preferred destination.
Emerton said: "If there was a serious offer I would have to think about it. There's no doubt I would love to come to England at some stage.
"If I went to Leeds it would be a football decision - not just because fellow Aussies Mark Viduka and Harry Kewell are there."

Just a couple of news items for you to mull over before you say we have only loose change left or Dacourt is leaving.

If you spend more than £4/5m you will have to borrow or sell. I expect Big Fat Ducky to be the first exit - no doubt to Italy.

Would you say Ferguson is defo signing for Leeds now? If yes, for how much?

That´d be the final straw for Advocaat ...

You are still spouting shite softy...why you would think anybody would believe you were given priviledged info regarding the running of LUFC PLC I dont know ....even the board only meet around 8 times a year but you seem to know more than them.

Hi Jens - You better ask Softy about the comings and goings at ER as he really really knows what's going on  :

I've heard they are lining up a bid... figure would be upwards of £10m.

I think Avocado looks like he wants out now.

I have never thought we would win it this year Davo....neither has DOL or PR. Our aim is a top 4 spot and that I think we will get.

Apology accepted ;)

I have always thought we would push whoever close for the title this season but not win it. I did think MU would win it but I did not bank on Fergie and Barthes both losing the plot.
Now it could even be you lot that wins it :D

Softlad...do you post under the name of 'Milan Baros' at Squareball? Because he's been saying the exact same things too.

No I'm not happy with one win out of seven especially the number of draws we have had.

But as usual the consistency of the team has been disrupted by external forces once again: court case, Bowyer injury, Matteo injury, Bakke injury, Keane has a broken hand, Smith gets himself banned for three matches just as his regular strike partner returns from international duty...two influential players out on international duty for a month- It was exhausting and they are both still getting over it (witness displays against Fulham), what else? Oh yeah, two new players to integrate into team, plus rumours of Dacourt leaving flying about. Buying Fowler has also upset the staus quo a bit with 4 strikers now...it will change team selection a bit. That's been the tale of woe for Leeds over the last few weeks and why it's led to the bad run.

Having said that if DOL had perhaps tried Kenae and Smith as a partnership before Viduka left for Oz they might have had more success. BUT, Smith leaving Keane to play an hour against Villa on his own didn't help either.

I'm not happy with the team's form at the moment but those are the reasons why. It's the usual tale of woe from last season. Thankfully we are not 14th like we were last season when we had these problems so hopefully we can bounce back.

As for all Liverpool's sudden interest in Leeds' misfortunes now you are top, why weren't you so inquisitive as to our situation when you were third and we were first?

Personally, when Leeds were top I couldn't care what was Liverpool's problems....just that my team was doing the bsiness.

That's an insult to Gazza ;)

Shaun did you see Sky Sports News last night? Rangers have said that Barry Ferguson is going nowhere, despite interest from Leeds....

:)

No but I know a man who does.... :)

MB has actually been banned by Squareball for nothing more than adding a different point of view, there are some very narrow minded individuals on Squareball.

Yeh and keep off our forum tosser

;)

As far as I know Milan Baros hasn't been banned.

And if offering a different point of view is posting a thread called "1 win in 7" and claiming he's not trying to wind anyone up is a 'reasonable' different point of view then god help Milan Baros.
