There are 10 types of people in the world: Those w
The verdict is just in on his "drug" charge. He's got a 12 month ban.
I don't condone his action but I am sure it was just a case of stupidity with no intent to cheat. The thing that gets me is that the ICC doesn't have a drug policy, if he had played for most other countries he would not have been tested. I think only Aus, England, SA and Pakistan test for drugs.

Soo stupid, he didn't NEED the drugs or whateva. Have u heard the story from him? Apparantely, his Mother gave them to him to have so that he would look good on TV when he announces his retirement  ...sooo thick, classic Aussie thinking! <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" />

The ICC are trialing drug testing at this world cup but do not have an official drug policy. It is ridiculous that any high profile sport does not have a stringent policy in place these days.

I feel sorry for him if it was the way he ended his carreer on! that would be deeply dissapointing!

manUinOZ, have I ever mentioned what an impeccable taste in music you obviously have?

Don't worry ellie, it'll galvanize him - an extended break will prolong his career, and the circumstances of the incident won't even really affect his reputation.

Much as we Brits can't stand the Aussies there's not many over here who seriously think of him as a drug cheat. He's a vain fat bastard - always has been, always will be !

The authorities should be investing time and effort in the things that really undermine the game; match fixing, ball tampering, Murali's action....

I'm not sure about that. he's has put in a lot of effort this year to get in shape and now faces a demoralising twelve months out of the game. He can't play again untio next January which means he will miss virtually all of the next Australian summer. Can't see him being too motivated to resume his career in the English summer of '04 it's just too far away.

I think you're being unduly pessimistic and in fact his English club (Hampshire) have been extremely supportive throughout. They see him as a highly innovative club captain and will want him back.

Warne is famously competitive and once the token appeal has been dismissed he'll start to focus on the longer term. There's no way the fat bastard is going to crawl away and die !

I hope so, he won't want to go out this way, that's for sure, As a spin bowler he has a few years ahead of him but I'm sure other ventures will be put before him in the meantime.

The ICC in infact has an official drug policy ranging from performance enhancing drugs to recovery drugs.Infact they had curculated a file to each and every player informing then about the banned substances. Its up to the cricket board and
physios to make sure that the players sticks to that rule

Inducted into the Australian cricket hall of fame tonight. He's to Bowling what Bradman is to batting. The single best cricketer i've witnessed in my life time. The biggest of big game and big moment cricketers if not in sports in the entire world. Say what you will about him as a man and his life choices, there is not many sports people as talented or as much of a winner as Warney.

They should freeze his already wax-like body and keep him in the hall of fame forever.

His performance in the 2005 Ashes is probably one the greatest individual performances by a sportsman you'll ever see, right up to the point he dropped Pietersen of course.
