Hello I made this thread for people who play PES 2008 master league. Please do not post about how you beat your mate (either online or not). This is only to discuss Master League (anything relevant) and only PES 2008 version for PC, XBOX260 and PS3 (sorry, no Wii or Ps2).

Please be willing to post screenshots of your team records and league rankings. Please only reply if you have used cheat prevention save.

I look forward to talking with you.

Changing PES every year is spastic. They only change the game engine with every 'new gen'. Why should I restart every year. The game only truly challenges you the longer it goes on. Haven't you ever noticed how the first few games of master league are annoyingly easy, even on Top player? Well if you haven't noticed this thread is not for you. PES sells year after year cos pople use is socially. I don't. I have no 'social' life.

PES is a serious game. The code Konami owns is a beautiful thing, based on a beautiful thing. I would like to hear from you if you have noticed how wonderful master league really is. It's like a real footballing world and so it is always unpredictable. Of course you may work out methods for defeating certain teams, but even when you do, there is no guarantee that they will play that way again. There are also all the enviromental factors so perfectly coded into the game. Some of the stuff that happens, when the wind is blowing in a certain direction, or a player is off form, or the pitch is wet, it's amazing. I think PES 2008 I will play for a few years still.

Beating some guy 5-0 yesterday on PES 2009 on the Wii, bastard quit half way through!

Wouldnt mind getting a thread going like this for 09.

I'm towards the end my 2nd season on top player with a 8 point lead, Rooney is an absolute monster. Signed Aguero, Kaiser and Yohan Pele so far while getting rid of all my older players. Really hard to make signings in this version. Desperate to get Benzema or Pato.

That's great 101. I think we may each have our favourite version. (Us serious players). I know my favourite was PES 4. I loved the simplicity of the colours, and it really got to be quite tough, but you had to have Real Madrid as one of your rivals. They were really a tough team to beat. But PES 2008 just seems to have be flawless. I hear complaints from people, one I heard was 'the free kicks always go in'. When I hear a comment like that I already know, SPASTIC. Do I need to tell you how to defend free kicks? I will if you ask!

Well actually Darcy the only reason I play PES 6 master league is because I don't have a next gen console and PES 2008 was so shit it wasn't even worth buying for the collection. I'd be playing PES 2009 master league if I had a PS3. Still, PES 6 kicks arse.

I don't know about that, but I mean the game just is so authentic. At least on a PC with all the hardware requirements met, it is a flawless game of football. No bugs, just a football, a pitch and players that react so close to how real players do it is uncanny.

This has got to be a pisstake.

PES 2008 has to be the worst PES ever.

You didn't have to post. No one forced a cock to your mouth.

I'm still fecking waiting for Sarni to explain his outburst.

Is one of your tracks going to be on PES 2010? You should send it in.

I beat my mate 8-0 on Fifa 09 the otherday. Hope this helps.

Darcy, I think your threads a year too late, but to be fair I think people talk a lot of nonsense about PES2008. Perhaps they were expecting more or something, but it was still a bloody good game that I spent far too many hours as per usual playing

I actually like to play as lower standard teams, unless I'm playing against mates. And that's where you can really tell how good the game is. 2008 was slick, you could really play football on it. The current version, there's some good improvements. The keepers are better, long range shooting is more challenging, there's greater skill involved in retaining posession, and you have to work harder to make space. But it also seems a lot 'clunkier', the play is a lot more stop start. Pro's and con's, but at the moment I still prefer the last version I think

Do you play master league over a number of seasons? What I found is, no matter how good your players are, the game will challenge you, but it is realistic and so the only time a stoke city will beat a manchester united is if they get the breaks and you (playing as a powerful team like man utd) have an off day. I find the only times I lose is when I don't read the situation in time, like if a team is sitting back and sucking me in, and i get chance after chance. Often i can turn the game if I realise wait, maybe i should let them attack a bit, and then proceed to coax them into the game a bit more. I love hittiing a team on the counter after I made them come out their defensive shell.

The changes Konami make, that you have mentions ('harder to find space' etc) are often not really changes at all. I've found that starting a new versin, it always seems different, but thats just cos the default AI still has to start showing variations. What is the most amazing this about Konami's PES is how the AI responds differently as you play match after match. Those stats you can view are not for nothing, and the way they hyped 'team vision' as a new additon to PES 2008 was laughable. Certainly PES 2008 had many improvements in fluidity, the ball physics, player responses and such, but the AI has ALWAYS been mint, since day 1. What does that tell you about updates?

That they provide many improvements in fluidity, the ball physics, player responses and such.

Yeh I always do at least one master league for 5 or 6 seasons on each version. The only problem with it is that your players become too good, and say in my last master league on 2008, I went 1 game away from a 100% season (bloody Udinese, of all the Italian teams, beat me with a few games to go). But yes I know what you mean. Udinese were a bit of a bogey team for me, because I'd struggle to break them down, but they were also very effective on the break. When I'm playing teams like Milan, I could often go 2 or 3 up early on - soemtimes they'd haul it back, sometimes I'd hold on. On top level you definately still have to play well for your victories

The 'harder to find space' is definately a real change on the new version though. Players make much more 'body contact' for instance, and a good example is when you have the ball near your own corner flag, with a rival player present. You have to really work it to try and get your clearance upfield or to safely pass the ball back

very good. Now let me say, I am not convinced they have done enough with 2009 to warrant a change. Maybe I am just not as good as Brad, cos I still find it a perfect challenge as it is.
