Will Ferrell's new film. This guy makes fecking awful film after awful film. I cant believe people actually pay him.

He basically plays the same role in every movie(sans Stranger than Fiction).

That I will give you, and it is better as a supporting role imo, Old School was the funniest movie I have ever seen, "You got a feckin dart in neck":lol::lol:

Seriously?

Also his role in A Night at the Roxbury is very different than what he has been lately, still funny as feck, and it spawned the best commercial of this year's Super Bowl imo

Busta Rhymes is great in it, it was great that they had Aikman and Buck introduce it, because you could have sworn they were talking about Manning and then you are like what...

I saw a special preview screening of Semi Pro a couple of weeks ago. Typical Will Ferell movie, no one could/would do the things that he puts himself through. Funny in bits but not as good as some of his other work. Watchable though ... after a drink or two.

I don't mind Will Ferrell's films. You know what you're going to get and it's something you can watch and not think too much about. I call it a lazy yank film.

Never go watch majority of his films in the cinema though.

I suppose its a film you may have on in the background but how people pay money to watch his films i dont know.

I seem to be in the minority of people who immensely enjoyed Ferrell's Talladega Nights. It was unbelievably good satire, yet most of the yanks get all self-righteous and bash it.

Im not American but i thought it was poor satire. The essence of a good satire for me is the subtelty of it and it was about as subtle as murdering a 15ft elephant in the centre circle of Old Trafford while United are playing arsenal. Being smacked continually in the face by his poor humour is annoying more than anything else. Im just not a fan of films where he is the centre of attention. Films where he plays cameo roles arent so bad because you can chuckle at his humour (which lasts a few minutes) rather than having to endure it for an hour and a half.

Wtf are you talking about all his films are satirical, I don't understand how some foreigner would understand the satire about NASCAR and southern culture better than an American. And no I didnt like it that much.

Will Ferrell is a comedy god.

Not that many people can brag about making streaking popular again after a few years of slumber. Nobody can miss ones dog as much as Will Ferrell did in Anchorman. Nobody's hair looks as good as Will Ferrell's in Blades of Glory, and I could go on but I'm sure you catch my drift.

If you actually want to make an intellectual discussion about the depth of his performances, characters or stories, well, you've already lost my friend. It ain't there!

That's probably down to opinion, but I think there are more than just one type of satire. Farrell's seems more "in your face", blatantly obvious OTT stuff. Toilet humor if you will. Completely different from the more subtle stuff. The dinner scene in Talladega just killed me.

I'm pretty sure most of the reviews i read, bashed the movie as anti-french and teaches bad values or something. Soem of them even questioned Farrell's integrity. It was almost as if they had NO idea Farrell was poking fun at the them. I believe some rednecks even questioned the usage of a black actor on the NASCAR team, completely oblivious to the fact that the film was making fun of THEM. Sadly, America is still divided it seems. Also I wouldn't say ALL his films are satirical, sometimes he just does things over the top without resembling any culture or persona.
