Wouldn't sell Becks, simple as that.

It's just a hypothetical question.
I reckon Becks would get about 40m if we sell at the end of the current season even tho' the market is down. I would use that money to buy another great right winger - Joaquin Sanchez Rodriguez. He was brilliant in the World Cup and is still only 21 or 22. And possibly another midfielder like Joe Cole.
But.. the fact of the matter is that David Beckham is at OT till he retires.

No chance. What's the point of selling a player like Becks to one of our rivals until he's well over the hill.
Whereever he goes in Europe, they could be counted as our rivals

who the hell is going to pay £40M for beckham in the current market? madrid? not when they have figo. nobody else could afford him nor would anybody pay that much for beckham anyway, not if as you say someone like joaquin is available for £20M or so.
the market's changed and it's time to get used to it.

i think if becks was available real madrid would pay 40m for him as he´s one of the biggest names (marketing, pr etc.) in world football. he also has a contract with adidas, just like real ....

And adidas doesn't like the fact that he plays in a Nike shirt so they will be willing to pay the 40m to get him to Madrid. Here we go again...

Jens, you are assuming Posh hasn't told him already. I pray she never makes him put her shopping ahead of our Red
Mods, make this thread disappear before Kemo jumps on the bandwagon and tortures us with how Adidas want Beckham to sell more merengue shirts.

Yes, and Ronaldo was told by Nike that Manchester is wonderful.

What more do you expect of him?

I'd rather he play crap for our rivals then play crap for us.
Everyone is quick to take shots at our great imports like Veron who i think is a great players and is playing good soccer, but bring a sugestion like selling Becks or Giggs and people think your on it.why?

Take the time to read some of the posts about Veron. He's got a lot of support.
Suggesting your "on it" when you say why don't we cash in on becks, giggs etc. is simple. Why sell players to your rivals. O'Leary realised that and it cost him his job. We want to be the best in the europe, how can you do that by offloading your best players to other team after they had a couple of bad games. It's about showing loyalty, if you don't feel wanted at your work place you don't work as hard.
Don't forget football is a job, the club are their employers. They react the same as anyone else if they feel unwanted or surplus to requirements.

Actually.. I disagree.
Its very hard to find a quality left winger,There arent any in the PL at the moment who could fill his boots.
He wouldnt be the first big name out of the door.
Id sell Veron and Beckham before Giggs.
