why doesn't this show get as much credit or a mention on here as it deserves..

Greatest sitcom ever made for me... And am a total fanatic and obsessed with it seeing each episode ever aired quite a few times..

Oh and George Costanza is my idol

It's class. It's weird, I and many Americans find it a superior show to Frasier, but everyone on here seems to think Frasier is the dog's balls. I think Seinfeld is fecking hilarious and wish they would have done a few more seasons before hanging it up. Kramer was fecking hilarious, hell they all were, well maybe not Elaine but she was still pretty funny.

Love seinfeld, have all the doovde box sets :D

I also love Frasier, does that mean I should be in conflict with myself?

I think quite a lot of people on here just haven't seen it. Those who have regard it as the greatest sitcom of all time.

I'm currently watching all of season 8 again.

It will always have a cult following for those who watched it in the period it was broadcasted. I know many fans who haven't gotten into it because it lost its relevance. Hence, it doesn't mature from time.

In that respect, Curb is a much better version of Seinfeld.

I don't think I'm making any sense.

Lol, actually you definitely aren't making any sense..

I never saw Seinfeld or had the sense to watch Seinfeld during the period it was broadcasted. In fact I only started watching it 5 or 6 years after it's finale cause i wasn't old enough. However I've seen each and every single episode numerous numerous times, and love every bit of the show. I don't think it can ever get old or out dated due to the type of humour or content the show had.

Brilliant brilliant show..

Same here, I was only 8 when the finale was broadcast.

I am exactly the same. I knew of the show but I had never bothered watching it. I then holidayed in America and saw a repeated episode on television and I was instantly hooked.

Despite my love of Seinfeld I have not seen a single episode of Curb your enthusiasm yet :nervous: I'll have to search it out on the web.

The DVDs are fantastic too. All the special features, inside looks, notes about nothing, commentaries. A fanstasticly thoughtful and well put together package.

I've watched every episode more times than i'd care to mention. My older brother used to tape it off BBC 2 every night. Those VHS tapes are so bad from being constantly used. Thank God they finally brought it out on DVD!

i'll have to check it out - think its brand of humour was a bit mature for me at that age....

i love curb your enthusiam tho and i'm sure its very funny

Echoed with most of the stuff that's been said in this thread..
Just the chemistry between George and Jerry on screen is unbelievable, and Larry David is a genius.

and this clip sums up exactly why I think Costanza is an absolute genius!!!

This post infuriates me

Serenity now, serenity now!

:D

Too much heavily scripted neuroses ...people don't actually have those kind of conversations. Curb Your Enthusiasm was it refined and done much better....plus Jerry's a smug prat

but each to their own

Didn't really infuriate me, just wanted an excuse to say serenity now.

I get your point regarding the neuroses, they seemed to make George more anxious and angry as the show went on but I still loved it.

Comedy material aside, the overall acting ability of the cast is pretty week. And the younger generation of audience wouldn't really watch it.

Jason Alexander's acting ability!?

Patrick Warburton - fellow who plays David Puddy?
Admittedly Jerry is shit at acting, and he'll admit to that himself, but I guess that itself adds to comedic value..the lack of seriousness.

I don't know how age is even a factor in regards to the audience. I started watching this show while I was around 16/17 (4/5 years ago)....

Seinfeld is a work of art. have a few boxsets. I can take or leave Jerry but George Costanzy is a truly great comedy character and the one of course Larry David says is modelled on himself. I think we all have a bit of George in us. We think as he does but he says it out loud

Apart from Jerry that's nonsense.

Jason Alexander and Julia Louis Dreyfus are brilliant comic actors with great timing and Michael Richards was one of the best physical comedians in the business at the time.

"Man, it's the nineties... It's Hammer time!"
- Kramer in The Parking Space

Just because Jerry Seinfeld is a has-been, don't make Little Jerry Seinfeld a never-was

That quote from the maestro episode was funny. Jerry as questioning why they called the guy maestro and then tells elaine:

-alright I want you call me Jerry the great.
-Why
-I`m Jerry and I`m great

lol. I`m sure someone can dig up that clip. It was hilarious.

Yesterday, I watched one episode where Jerry and Constanza commandeer a limo from the airport to Madison Square because they dont' have a ride, and they know the guy that's supposed to be riding it is not coming. Hillarious episode plus speech that "O'brien" has to read.

I really think it is a show for everyone. Once you are hooked it's unbeatable.

It looks dated sure but the comedy is timeless.

Yeah, I used to not like it, but it grows on you. I wish I understood the relevance of some of the stuff. Like the Soup Nazi episode, hilarious, but what is it about?
