This looks right up redcafe nerds alley. From the people behind Love, Death and Robots. Which is a decent pedigree. A series of short movies based on the following computer games:

● Armored Core
● Concord
● Crossfire
● Dungeons & Dragons
● Exodus
● Honor of Kings
● Mega Man
● New World: Aeternum
● PAC-MAN
● PlayStation (Highlighting various PlayStation Studios beloved entities)
● Sifu
● Spelunky
● The Outer Worlds
● Unreal Tournament
● Warhammer 40,000

I feel like some of them will just be glorified ads.

They just pump money into those Warhammer 40k Astartes animations on YouTube. I have zero interest in Warhammer but those were fantastic.

Fantastic idea, shame I haven’t played any of these games. Will watch it nonetheless

I saw Kratos and Keanu in the trailer.

Definitely keeping an eye on this

Cant see it being as good as Captain N. For that reason I am out

Yep. Concord, really? Who cares.

Yeah this looks great. Cut scenes are often some of the best parts of games anyway, so episode length cut scenes? Take my money!

Never played Warhammer but watched a few lore vidoes on youtube randomly a couple months and got hooked on the lore. Bit of a Dune rip off but great if you like grand/epic story telling spread over thousands of years.

I’m confused by the Warhammer hype. Has any of its games ever had good storytelling? Or are you referring to the source material? I understand the new game Space Marine 2 is blowing away everybody who plays it but other that, have there been any brilliant Warhammer games in the past and that too story driven ones? Maybe this new game will be the one where I get it.

So alongside the table top game they have a division called the black library which has produced around 400+ books, audiobooks, short stories etc which fill in a lot of the lore. Then you have the rulebooks (not sure what they are actually called) when the table top game gets updated which also adds more lore. But effectively the books fill in all the gaps. When you dive into it it is pretty much the structure of Dune e.g. there was an AI rebellion, saviour in the emperor but is he really the saviour and then mixing in gods, chaos etc. If you like a good sci fi/fantasy lore then check out one of the youtube videos.

Anyone watching this, and is it worth diving into?

I keep seeing ads for the Warhammer episode, and it looks good. It's probably the only game on the episode list I'm really familiar with. Do you need to know the games to get it?

No, I wasn't familiar with some of them and still enjoyed it. Episodes are quite short so it isn't a huge commitment time wise either.

It's very like love death and robots, some episodes better than others but by the time you realise one isn't great, it's normally over anyway!

I’ve seen a few of them. As someone in works in CGI I’m not too keen on how some of them look, appreciate the work gone into it but it’s very uncanny valley with the human characters the closer we are trying to get to photorealism. The stylised ones work a lot better.
