Seba vs Becks - who'd you like taking your free kicks?

For those of you who have said that Seba isn't world class and is just a regular joe, i'd like to disagree.

i think he's excellent from dead balls and has proven to us in the games we've missed Becks.

His free kicks can be very fast and furious - i'd take his free kicks over Roberto Carlos' any day - and his corners have been very well placed. They're hit very hard and only minimum effort is needed to deflect and the ball into the net.

If his passing doesn't surpass any of the United troops i think it'll be fair to say his dead ball abilities can be hardly matched. And esp that Becks has not been very consistent (due to us not being given too many freek kicks around the edge of the box) i think it's fair SAF give Veron more chances from dead ball situations even when Becks is on the pitch.

So my vote goes to Seba at this time. Any of you beg to differ?

I think I will go for Seba.Becks a bit overrated on Free Kicks and he needs more chances to score

I think they should mix them up and both of them should take free kicks during matches. This goes for the corners as well.

The problem is, everyone knows Becks is always going to take the free kicks when he's on the pitch and it always frustrates me when he/Giggsy line up together on the ball because EVERYONE knows who's taking the kick. And it's a total waste to have Giggsy back there.

i remember one time when giggs and becks took the free kick at the same time (took a few replays to see clearly who actually hit the ball) - it was a funny tact that almost worked.. we haven't seen that ever since tho.. guess SAF is afraid one of them will get kicked in the heel and get injured! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Agree. I think Becks should share his freekick work with Seba. That will make our freekick less predictable, and in case Becks in a bad day there is still Seba there.

If its in Beckham's range and area, he should take them, he's got an extraodinary success rate. I'm sure though that in training a few of them practice them and Alex knows who's the best, and thats why Beckham takes them. Corners though need mixing up more, Giggs, Seba and Diego can all take them as well and add some variety.

does anyone know if it's written in beck's contract that he has to take all the dead balls whenever he's on the pitch?

if you can recall many situations you'll come to realize that whenever becks seems to have an off day on free kick he'll keep trying until he gets it just right. He's not the kind of guy who will say to another person "I don't feel good today, you take 'em". He's no quitter.

I pick seba for long range and middle position, beckham for somewhere just outside the penalty box. Giggs for header goal setting up freekicks.

IMO Beckham is the world's greatest free kick taker and he should take our free kicks when ever possible. If you look at his record (taken v. scored) and compare it to others I think you'll find his record is the best. As long as he keeps scoring he should take our free kicks.
