Scousers: Larsson won't come to Anfield!

Stop dreaming, Henrik Larsson will never come to Anfield. He is far too good for you, and so is Trezeguet.

And so was Robbie BTW...

Sheva for Liverpool. <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

I'd say it a case of very poor marketing to put a class act and local hero like Fowler on the bench. I can't see any decent strikers lining up to sign for LFC; if they want to see Owen and Heskey play they would probably rather see them from their TV sofa than from LFC's bench.

LOL, you mancs really do look down on Liverpool don't you, Trezeguet is highly unlikely he is happy at Juve and Juve want to keep him, Ciise why not, he says he wants to play in England and guy roux (who has also recently had heart problems and is in hospital) is good friends with Houllier, Kluiver does'nt suit our type of play he thrives on wingers, Shev and Crespo are also unrealistic.

Mark my words the Liverpool board will bring in a top notch striker to replace Fowler, because they know the fans are hurting from losing thier idol

Class act !, Fowler was a class act for Liverpool 4 years ago, he has'nt performed for us for years and kept getting himself into trouble. The move was right for Fowler (he needed a fresh move and will do good at Leeds) and right for the club.

What was it last year, 17 goals or something like that? I'd say that's pretty good. He did very well in the first half against Sunderland too IMO. Even though he hasn't performed as well as he did in the past (and he has been injury free now for a while and geting better and better) he was still your second best striker after Owen.

I think that Thompson has been unfair to Robbie, but that's beside the point. The point is that replacing Robbie Fowler at Anfield must be the most difficult job in the world of football at the moment, and I just don't see that any big names will be willing to interview for that job.

(NOTE TO MANCS HOULLIER HAD THE FINAL SAY ON THIS, HE IS THE LIVERPOOL MANAGER)

Well contrary to popular opinion on this site Liverpool are a big club, and i'm sure theres lots of quality strikers around who would love to play alongside Owen in a Liverpool shirt

Cisse WILL be a Liverpool player next season.

Ged is good mates with Guy Roux and obviously has a bit of time on his hands right now to visit the kid. I also heard that Cisse is a lifelong Liverpool fan who's favourite player was a certain Ian Rush.

i can imagine that you'll buy a LFC top with 'Cisse' on the back

buying johnny foreigner surely sends out the right message to the great strikers (mellor, baros, pongolle and le tallec) you have coming thru

Le Tallec and Pongolle are only 17 and joining us in TWO years (do you expect us to wait for them with no additional strikers), Mellor is still young and not ready to enter the first team. that leaves Heskey, Baros (who has'nt joined yet), Owen, and Litmanen (who has'nt been used). We obviously need another striker, did you not yourselfs spend 40 odd million on " johnny foreigners" in the summer

Glad to see you've come around on this. :D

In my book, there are some good strikers out there. If I was GH, I would be interested in Cisse as well.

My Top Ten strikers you should be looking at imo.... (in no particular order)

1. Djibril Cisse - Auxerre
2. Diego Tristan - Deportivo La Coruna
3. Dean Ashton - Crewe
4. Ariel Carreno - Boca Juniors
5. David Trezeguet - Juventus
6. Zlatan Ibrahimovic - Ajax
7. Ivica Olic - NK Zagreb
8. Mateja Kezman - PSV Eindhoven
9. Diego Forlan - Independiente
10. Hakan Suker - Inter Milan

Ive seen a lot of Ibrahimovic and Kezman. Both not good enough. Sukur doesnt deliver the goods outside of Turkey (didnt he return to Galatasaray again?). Dont know Olic; Carreno or Forlan.

Would be happy with Tristan or Trezeguet.

It depends what type of striker you're looking for. IF you buy a really good one (Cisse, Trezeguet, Tristan etc) then Heskey will have to sit on the bench. If you merely replace Fowler, then maybe Dean Ashton will do the trick.

There, thats easier reading and cuts out all the cr@p.
So, anyone know much about him?
Will he replace Robbie adequately?

Cisse i class, quick, strong, has got good technique, and a good finisher of the ball. would love him to sign for us but according to Raoul Utd have first refusal on him as well as the other top youngster in the world ;)

He is easily the best strikers in France. Blinding speed, excellent control, and deadly finishing. He will be universally regarded as one of the three best strikers in the world once he gets out of France imo. Personally as a United fan, I could care less if you sign Trezeguet or Larssen. It's the thought of signing Cisse that concerns me.

A lot of the rumours are pointing to him being Fowlers replacement (although though they're only rumours at the moment) apparently it's going to take some time because of the Roux situation (he's had heart problems :( )

Of all the scousers on here you really are the most irritating wanker of them all aren't you. Piss off and do us all a favor.

Theres as much chance of henrik going to the pool as Mau U winning any silverware this year, feck all.

:p :p :p :p

wasn't Larsson quoted a while back as saying the reason joining United didn't interest him was the rotation system?
Of course he'd be in the same boat at Liverpool.
There is a certain kind of player who is just too content to play in the comfort zone.
Talented as Larsson is he is one such player. Mark Viduka said he never needed to play above 80% to be a success in Scotland.
The fact that Chris Sutton is prospering in the SPL also bears out this fact in a slightly different way.
Larsson is a quality player but if he came to England he would suddenly have to drop a notch in status.
I'm sure his lack of ambition and obvious unwillingness to test himself in a more challenging environment will be welcomed by Celtic fans everywhere.

Tristan was very impressive against United. But our defence hasn't exactly only shipped goals to world-class strikers has it?

But he does look a class act in the matches and highlights I've seen him in.
