Reading the extracts from Keanos book today, he had a bit of a swipe at big Pete, saying that he only potrayed the agression for the benefit of the fans, media etc, hinting that Pete liked to boast that he carried the defence through a few seasons.
Keano admitted he thought he was a top keeper, but i got the impression that he didnt really like the man.

I thought it was common knowledge that they weren't the best of mates.

thats the way it seems anyway. Come in, do your job & go home. Nothing wrong with that i suppose, but i bet he's great craic at the Xmas party ;)

I reckon he'd be banned within a week if he ever signed up for this board.

You've gotta love the outspoken bloke tho..

Heart on his sleeve..

;)

I've read the bit about Schmichael and he in fact pays him a few compliments which. He did say he like the posing, which is what you'd expect the tabloids to come out with, but he said that he didn't need the posing or the shouting, he was still the best golakeeper in the world at that time.

Keane's argument with Schmichael was the time he was captain and got injured. Ferguson gave the armband over to Schmichael and after Keane returned he refused to hand it over and sulked when Ferguson had to force him to give it over.

Kind of like most of the lads in the cafe really ;)

I'd ignore this comment if I were you. Typical of the redtops to make a big fuss out of one comment taken out of context (note that the Times didn't even mention it). Remember Japp calling Gary Nev. a "busy c***". The Mirror neglected to mention that it came within a whole chapter where he praised Gary saying that he was a future United and England captain.
