SCHMEICHEL documentary on Sky Showtime

Understandable why he left when he did but it would have probably been better for the club had he stayed on for a year or two longer.

Hated him for a few years, the cartwheeling cnut, but as time has passed and I've got older, I've realised that he was still one of our greatest ever goalkeepers and I was being a bit daft just because he went to City. Same with Mark Hughes.

I liked his interview on the Overlap to say that his style of keeping was influenced by Handball which is popular in Denmark. My only concern with this show is how much of it is what we already know

Second only to van der Sar in terms of the keepers I've seen play for United.
I'll definitely give this a watch.

Why would anyone care he went to city? They were a non factor by then and he at the twilight of his career.

Nah it was the right time to leave. A lot of people remember his performance against arsenal in the semi final and the penalty save (rightly so!) but he was quite bad that season, a lot of howlers and it was clear he was going downhill. The mistake was replacing him with Mark Bosnich.

So many great memories watching this man-mountain in goal. I'll definitely be giving this one a watch.

Best keeper I've seen at United. Loved him as a kid.

Early part of the season he was struggling. Later on he started turning it around again.

If I remember correctly, Schmeichel has since said that he wishes he'd stayed a couple more seasons and just been willing to be rotated a bit more. It was the amount of games that he was starting to struggle with, but his pride meant he still wanted to play every single game.

Rory Delap will have a documentary about his throw ins next. So many football documentaries!

More please

Sounds like a common theme. The quality of our replacements have often not been great.
