SAN LORENZO vice-president Rafael Savino claims Manchester United are negotiating a deal to bring Sebastian Saja to Old Trafford.
The Argentinian keeper is the latest shot-stopper to be linked with a move to The Red Devils as rumours persist that Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to replace eccentric Frenchman Fabien Barthez.

Savino claims discussions have been held with a United representative, who viewed the match against Racing on Saturday.

"The opening negotiations have finished," he claimed.

"But an offer has still not come to us.

"I believe the representative left with enough approval with the performance of Saja.

"They came to see him after watching videos."

Whether United do decide to take the plunge with a relatively unknown keeper from the Almagro outfit is another matter, but the 22-year-old has certainly been the subject of some interest from the Premiership champions.

Yes, Leandro Romagnoli - highly rated 20 year old Attacking Midfielder at San Lorenzo.

Raoul could this be a case of its Argentina -- the banks have no money, no one has any money -- maybe some one will buy this player so at least we have some money . . .

If you're referring to the recent currency crisis in Argentina, then yes, I would think that a decent bid from a European side would be accepted. Though realistically, Romagnoli isn't ready for the Premiership. He'll probably end up in Spain.

thanx ra - he's on his way to italy i think after this yr. d'alla was on delay this week and was great. he'll leave plate and requelme was off to barca (that i hear is off). everyone seems to be raiding arg. also (spelling) cavanagi is pretty good at 19yrs old. (actually the only goal i saw him score he kinda bundled into the goal but he was buzzin the net).
