Atlético Madrid has just bought 19 year old Samuel Omorodion, only a week after he got his debut for Granada, against Atlético Madrid, in which he scored Granada's only goal in a 3-1 defeat. He is 193 cm tall, strong, powerful and very quick. He is also known for his explosiveness and eye for goal.

Atlético's initial plan was to loan him back out to Granada, but RFEF regulations stipulate that he has to be loaned out to a different team, so the early favorite as of right now seems to be Cádiz. Definitely one to keep an eye on this season, as he seems to have everything you need to be an incredible striker, and we all know Atlético's history with developing strikers.

Will be watching him more intently this season at Atletico. Morata moving to Milan means Samu should see more minutes.

If all goes well, he could very well be leading the line for Spain come 2026.

Anyone else impressed with this guy ? Thought he was a handful and is only 20.

Very impressed. I think Atletico made a mistake letting him go.

If he keeps up his development he’s nailed on for the Spanish no. 9 spot.

We should be keeping tabs on him. A striker profile that we're lacking at the moment.

He was very good. Completely bullied De Ligt and was a handful for the rest of our defence too. Porto lost their threat after they took him off

I think he looks to be a very good talent but I feel he is somewhat overhyped after his match against us. I don't really think he was that impressive, we were ridiculously open, and he had a lot of space to play around, add the non existant defensive shape or defensive assistance by either of our midfielders, and it's any striker's wet dream. I'd be more surprised if he didn't score, to be honest. It is hard to look more disjointed defensively than we did on Thursday.

Is he any good against other teams? Anyone would look amazing vs us right now.
The comentator on my stream was saying that he had 5 goals in 6 matches before facing us. So after facing us he is on 7 goals in 7 matches.

Still early days, but the signs are promising.

Remember when being good against us was a barometer of your ability and if you did, SAF would be interested? Now we have to double check as we make everyone look like a worldie! Sad.

Is this the guy Chelsea were really close to signing and it all fell apart last minute?

Also when someone used to beat us it'd be the first in a decade and "famous win", now everyone beats us every week

Yep.

Porto paid 15 mil for half of his "sports rights" though (as opposed to buying the player outright). Very weird deal.
Means atletico get half of a future transfer fee

I was really impressed by him. In fact I was thinking all game that I'd take him over either of Hojlund or Zirkzee. At 20 (?) Years old, he's going to improve a lot on what he already is, so what could he be? A player similar to Drogba maybe?

Usually that would arranged via a sell on % clause,

Porto can buy more of the player's rights for set figures as well

I'm not saying the deal is dodgy, just that it's weird.
Didn’t the deal with Chelsea fall through because him or his agency wouldn’t sell his image rights or some such thing?

Think I was more angered by us to pay proper attention to him to him. Looked decent from what I remember although there was at least one moment where he could have / should have done a lot better that I recall.

Looking at his Wiki I'm strangely finding his path a little unsettling in a way. Footballers as commodities. Plays the one match for Granada, gets bought, loaned out and sold again for a profit without ever playing for Athletico in the space of a year. Nothing new, but still.

Can happen too. Remember when that child was in net for Benfica against us almost 7 or 8 years ago? Made errors and still got a load of hype, people saying we should sign him on the back of it.

He's actually starting for Roma this season and his manager has been sacked. Not saying he's the cause, just having some fun with it. He hasn't lived up to the noises made that night yet.

Hattrick for Porto within 13 minutes. Hopefully we're following him closely. I really like Højlund, but we need another striker as well. Starting to warm to this guy more now.

Ochoa is in goal for AVS. What a strange career he's had

He's a very veteran player now and AVS got acquired recently and basically this was a PR move to try to make the club get more known.

Glad it fell through him to Chelsea. He looks like he’s about to go big. Porto got a great deal there, which must mean he’s got a reasonable buy out.
