I don't think the mods are harsh enough to ban him for having a perm tbh.
Someones being ghosted, noticed the "what are we listening to" thread is bjorked. Can't get onto page 110. Busy bees this morning!
Its a ban for now, subject to review at a later date.

The CIA thread in the Current event forum, give that a read. Haven't read it all but he was getting on like a tit.
Its not just the CIA thread. That thread was the culmination of his behaviour in other threads over a period of time. He recieved a warning and decided not to take it seriously. It had nothing to do with his views, but rather his inability to discuss a topic without going off the deep end.

Of course it's not our place to dictate caf doctrine but, in fairness, wouldn't a quiet message have sufficed?
Sammsky is a good poster usually - although not trying to be drawn into the debate - he also seems like a good bloke.

I only talked to him briefly but he seemed like a very nice fella, but i read the thread and seen things got a little heated, thats politics.
I hope its not permanent and no damage was done.
He was infracted / warned earlier in the day and decided to ignore it by being antagonistic in the CIA thread. All of that was a culmination of his previous behavior in the CE forum where he simply couldn't but help attack people who didn't agree with his political views.
Its quite simple really. Anyone can debate a topic in the CE forum as long they do it with a degree of civility. At the end of the day, this is a private forum, not a public exercise in freedom of speech. Posting here is optional, not a right. The banning has nothing to do with Sammsky's view about the topic and everything to do with the antagonistic and inflammatory way that he communicates. He received a warning and treated it like a joke, so therefore he was banned. Greek, on the other hand, tried to explain his views in an intelligent manner and even offered to stop posting in the thread, despite having extreme views on US foreign policy.

I know, I seen that he was quite brazen in response to the first warning, im not defending anyone but was just stating that he had some recent troubles in case you hadn't heard, perhaps a ban from the CE forum if you were considering it not to be permanent.

I'm pretty sure given the tremendous support he's given me during my tough times, whilst going through what he's going through, he's more than a civil human and probably regrets what he said... what a shame, hopefully temporary, he's a good member.

Aye, i had exchanged a few PMs with him about it, thats the only way i had ever talked to him before. He seemed like a really decent person, i hope it works out.

I recall the thread about surgery and the NHS, hadn't read anything about him passing away. Hope that didn't happen. However Sammsky's incivility in the CE Forum started long before the thread about his father 's health, so I don't think it has any relevance here.
Hopefully, the guy is so unbelievably obnoxious. If anyone recalls the thread about the latest Israeli/Gaza crap he was completely unhinged in it.
If it helps, I always got Sammsky and Spammy mixed up so this is good news for me.
For SammySky own protection why not just ban him from the CE Forum. Every time he posts there he has to be walking a banning tightrope
