Ghanaian defensive midfielder who's having a very good season so far for RC Lens (currently 3pts behind PSG in Ligue 1) and also had a good world cup for Ghana. I thought there would be more interest around him but not seen him linked with anyone - not even mid-table teams. Although I don't doubt many clubs are keeping an eye on him probably for the summer. He's very composed on the ball and has good short-range passing. His dribbling is also good for a DM and gets him out of tight spaces, can also hold onto and shield the ball very well. His play I'd say is somewhere between a more composed Partey and a less technical Rodri but he's still relatively young (22 years) so still has room to reach or even eclipse those 2.
I think we'd do well to test the waters in the summer looking at our defensive midfield options. He's definitely better than McTominay and Fred in that position. Doubt he's going to cost any more than 30-40 million even in this inflated market. Else we're going to see him at Brighton next season and then somebody will have to pay 3 times as much to get him. Exhibit A - Seeing 70 million bids rejected for Moises Caicedo after a year in the PL.
