I've never played it but from the adverts of the second one am I right in thinking it's just a poor GTA copy?

It's actually a lot more fun than GTA gameplay-wise, but it just doesnt have the substance or storyline.

i don't like those sort of games

i prefer adventure / problem solving ones

like tombraider , prince of persia , ico etc

It's a fun game which is very similar to GTA, takes it self far less seriously then those games, the insurance fraud mini game is inspired, the plot is decent enough as well.

Ico and Shadow are both AMAZING games, Ico is in my top 10 of all time.

Looks like a game for gangster wannabes to live in fantasy land even more
though it is a video game so it could be fun

I've played for a couple of hours, and I find it better than GTA in the way that in GTA was going to slow. Here you get straight into the action, and don't have to go drive your friends to the bowling ally and shit like that. It's more my type of game, I think, seeing as I'm one of those frothing-at-the-mouth-can't-go-40-seconds-without-brutally-killing-someone-FPS-type-player.

It has it's bugs and the graphics aren't as good, but the game is more fun imo. Playing it gave me more of a flashback to older GTA versions that GTA4 did.

EDIT: Oh, and the driving is more fun. Less realistic, but this means you don't end up spinning out like a spastic everytime you nudge the breaks.

i'm getting the impression that shadow of the colossus is good

One of the best and most beautiful games ever made. Shame we didn't get to see it on next-gen instead mind, would have been mind blowing.

The annoying thing is, i never finished it. I got to like number 7 or 8 (i think) couldn't do it, and was too stubborn to use any form of guide.

I had ICO lying around on my pc (the brilliance of a chipped ps2) for ages after i played Shadows because i heard good things about it, but never got round to burning it and playing it.
