With all Fergie's talk of re-building a new UTD nucleus, is it time to let someone else have a go down the left??

agreed, at worst he should be on the bench for a spell, you wont get a better left w inger than him. Theirs a world shortage of them.

Do you think that with his refusal to beat a man on the wing, he confuses things up front? Too many flicks that don't come off and woeful passing are the only consistants in his game.

Murt! you must not get out much :p

i hear a lot of names pop up in the transfer forum for giggs replacements. Names like Duff, Kieran, Del'Allesandro, Rafael Van Der Vaart, etc.

But i'm still totally for giggs and i agree that only a period on the bench will justify the need to give him the kick up the back side. He's pure class and will be very hard to replace.

He will always be a Hero, long after hes left United and hung up his boots.

Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, running down the wing,
Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, running down the wing,
Feared by the blues, loved by the reds,
Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs.

To be honest, Giggs is a class player, yes he has his bad moments, but please name a player that doesn't - I can't think of one.

I don't think you could get rid of Giggs, I hardly ever see any other player in the side willing to take on players with the ball, its a skill which is very hard to adopt and I don't think its one which can be taught

I admire his loyality and his true RED heart. He still has plenty to offer and selling him is, IMO, completely out of the question.

he's my hero

Players can become stale, no matter how talented, if they stay at a club too long.
I don't want to see Ryan leave Man Utd, and I'm sure the player, management and most fans don't want to either.
What we do want however is a way of re-energising him somehow?
There is no getting away from it, Giggsy in footballing terms is having something of a mid-life crisis.
He's been a faithful 1st team player since the age of 17 under the same manager all his career.
Maybe the Wales thing will help shake him up?...I don't know...it hasn't so far.
Maybe he needs to pull his hamstring and miss 6 weeks?...just after scoring the winner against the Arse would be ideal or a week later against Deport?
Take a nice Christmas/New year break in the Carib. and come back re-juvenated.
If we could send him out on loan somewhere for a month or so without the negative backlash I would.
In fact, If I were Fergie I'd send him on a 6 week sabbatical to the US or OZ or somewhere nice where we have a feeder club. Tell the press he's injured and doing a little PR work for the club whilst he re-habilitating.
Whatever, seriously, short of a transfer, what does a player in Giggsy's situation do to get the juices flowing again?

Admittedly most of us fans would hate to see Ryan Giggs leave because he has brought us so many wonderful moments over the years. Who will ever forget his wonder goal against Arsenal in the 1999 FA Cup Semi-Final. But if you look at the broader picture then a club paying 25 million pounds for a 29 year old is hell of alot. With that money we can probably get 2 to 3 very good players. So lets see how this story devolops.

Too right.

Ryan Giggs is forever hero and the best winger for Manchester United.

A player need more than skill to be successful in Manchester United. Money just can't buy everything. You may spend 50m on a player with no loyalty or passion at all, who won't do much good to us.

this i have to agree.

we spent nothing on Giggs and many others. Notably Gaz and look at how he repaid us against the scousers.

I always wonder what sort of loyalty Real players have for the team. Everyone seems to want to play there ultimately, but is it really because the like the club? or even the la liga? i bet you Ronaldo and Zidane probably still cannot remember all 20 teams in La Liga - let alone their players.
