And it is a joke.
ter Milan have denied they are about to launch a bid for Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs.
Reports had suggested that club president Massimo Moratti was about to support an attempt to lure the Welshman to the San Siro, but the club issued a statement refuting the claims.
"With regards to supposed declarations which Massimo Moratti gave in relation to Ryan Giggs, FC Internazionale state that the president has not made these declarations and has not even thought about the issue," said the statement.
They have been linked with Giggs, who turns 29 on Friday, for many months but the club have never admitted their interest.
Chasing their first Serie A title since 1989, it had been suggested that Inter would make an offer for Giggs when the transfer window re-opens in the winter.
But Inter appear to be content with the strength of their current squad, and Alvaro Recoba will be reassured he has a future at the club by the statement.
The Uruguayan's place on the left side of midfield would be seriously threatened by the arrival of Giggs who tormented Italy when playing for Wales earlier this month in the British team's 2-1 win in Cardiff.
