Ryan Giggs - 500 games

he's only the 2nd modern player after Denis Irwin to do it, so congrats to him.
Its a shame hes been injured so much otherwise we may be talking about him being on 600 already.
still its a milestone to be proud off.

Giggsy is a key part of everything we have achieved in the last 10 years....both for his quality of performance when at his best and his significance to the youth team players who followed him into the team.

Thanks Giggsy - you've been immense !

I think we'd all agree that Giggsy won't play so many matches for another five, six or seven years.

Gary Neville might be in with a chance tho, he's on 358 apps ATM (according to manutd.com) and is always playing. 8 more seasons playing 50 matches might be possible for him.

Congrats Giggsy and thanks for everything!

Ryan's 500 matches includes Charity Shield, UEFA Super Cup and Inter-Continental Cup matches and those shouldn't really be included, should they? Officially they are considered as frendlies...

Sir Bobby has 754 plus 3 CS and 2 IC... Yet he's always said to have 754 apps or even 752 (not counting sub apps). Seems wrong to me to then say Ryan has 500.

I disagree, those matches are official. They are all trophies that are worth something and they are part of our history. We had to be successful to win those competitions and the medals for the players should be very important as the appearances in those matches.

Oh, come on. If you're allowed five subs it's a friendlie.

We won some trophies in Asia last summer. Should we count those matches too?

Congratulations Giggsy...seems like yesterday when he burst onto the scene as a freshed face 17 year old. Hope to see more of the magical things that he is capable of doing.

I just saw the 1001 United Greatest Goals video.
my God, it sure bring back a lot of memories, especially on Giggs.
I can't find enough superlatives to describe some of his goals, and his assists. It's really the greatest sight in football, Giggs in full flow. Seeing his electric pace, great finishing and that superb body balance of his just leaves me in awe.
Congratulations Giggsy, 500 appearance, and counting, may it long continue.. :)
