Peterborough claim that Manchester United are interested in their highly-rated defender Ryan Bennett.

Bennett has developed a reputation as one of the most promising centre-halves in the npower Championship since joining Posh from Grimsby in 2009 and made his full debut for the England Under-21 team this season.
Manager Darren Ferguson has confirmed that his father Sir Alex, is keen on the 21-year-old.
"I spoke to my dad and he likes Ryan Bennett, always has. I can understand the interest," Ferguson junior told Posh TV. "It's no secret that a lot of clubs are looking at Ryan.
"I'm staying silent on who exactly is interested, but unless we get a massive offer there is no way the chairman would sell. We'll ignore the speculation and get on with our jobs. Ryan is a sensible lad who won't be affected by any of the speculation."
Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony added on social networking site Twitter: "Had an interesting chat with gaffer. Seems his 'pops' could be in the mix with other clubs for a certain player."

Would we be intrested in another young defender?? sounds like Peterborough usings their managers father connections to boost the price. but can't say I know to much about him

apologies if there is another thread didn't see one with a quick glance

They're hawking him around with our name attached in an attempt to get a better price. I don't see him going directly to the likes of us.

:D

Might just be driving up the price.

I would love to see more young english player at the club (Of course quality is important) instead of players from Brazil or Italy.

We're having some brilliant players from the academy like Welbeck, Cleverley, Morrison, Fryers, Amos, Cole, M.Keane & Tunnicliffe and buying players like Jones and Smalling is very good too.
