Van Nistelrooy has knocked in forty goals for the Reds this season, and although this isn't enough to earn him a place in the PFA Premiership team of the year, it has made Barcelona sit up and take notice.

The Catalan giants have had an awful season, which has resulted in them missing out on European competition for the first time in their history next year.

In a bid to improve their fortunes, they have targeted Ruud for a summer move to the Nou Camp, according to his agent Roger Linse.

"It is true," confirmed Linse. “I have had a meeting with the Catalans to discuss Ruud's future."

I doubt it very much for several reasons, one of them is that Barcelona will not be playing CL-football next year.

Besides what could Ruud gain from such a move, thay are not exactly the most succesful club at present.

Well apart from the fact that the papers are always bandying rumours about re Veron going back to Italy etc. you make it sound like we should only discuss things we've seen in print. Like no topic should actually come out of someone's head then.

Latest Rumour going is Real Madrid want to land a superstar defender to sure up there defence, The beckham transfer is a smoke-screen for there £45 million bid for David May.
Their president has actually recently said that he only spends big money on the big supertsars...were doomed :( , oh well, it was likely to happen one day i suppose. Don't tell Yaps mins, he'll be distraught, break it to him gently :(

Notice he says "to discuss his future" that in no way implies he is going anywhere, maybe they asked how long his contract was etc etc. Besides if they are as broke as everyone is saying where the hell are they gonna pull 50mil from?
 
I don't think that Barca have the $$$.Their board is gonna resign and they won't qualify for Europe and figting relegation
 
i saw ruud's reaction to his goals against tottenham and arsenal and no way is that body language of a guy that wants out.He is gonna be a utd legend and i just hope we sign a top striker to play with him this summer.Maybe even a move for kluivert to keep ruuuuuuuuuuuuud extra happy.

He will like it. I've watched Kluivert a lot, and even Stevie Wonder would seem a clinical scorer alongside him.
