There have been a few comments - mine amongst them - about how many goals Ole could have scored if he had started the first 7 games of the season.

But even more scary - if he had started those games, how many more could Ruud have scored????

yep this season has been absolutly fantstic for OLE ... long may he continue !!!

Well agreed. But I was talking about Ruud - by way of a change like..... :)

<hr></blockquote>Ole's contribution to the crucial 2nd goal today underlines this point. Superb piece of play.

And the third - the lads a genius! <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

 - i assumed thay you were implying that RUUD would have scored more if ole had played moe because OLE has played really well this season as a partner to RUUD . <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" />

BUT if you were implying somthing else i stand corrected.

;)

Ruud's world class...easily the best striker at OT since Law..who knows he may become an even bigger legend than the King. <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

Speaking of best strikers at Old Trafford since Law and leaving out Eric is just stupid, Eric was the best United player of all time.
And he would never have played for city either ;)

Cantona wasn't a 'striker' he was a 'forward'

different types of players. ;)

I was implying that with any decent strike partner, Ruud could have scored a lot more goals.

But with my track record, it was an easy mistake for you to make. ;)

Look giggzy, I'm trying to widen my horizons here.....don't knock it. ;)

I think both Ruud and Ole would have benefitted if Ole did play in the beginning of the season. Ole set up Ruud for the second goal, and Ruud was the initiator of the third goal. Was nice to see the way he passed Desailly ;)

Agree with your original point Livvie...Ruud would have scored another 5-10 goals if Ole had been on the pitch since the start of the season...not only that, but United would have been another 6 points at least in the bank towards another league title.

The story of the league is that we wasted too many games early in the season trying to find the ideal partner for Ruud...at the same time, the manager was right to experiment with the formation, and it has paid dividends in Europe,(but that's another thread....).

FACT: Ruud and Ole are the best strike duo in Europe. <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

FACT: Out midfield is second to none. :D

long may it continue !

Pity we didn't try Giggsy in the allocated Scholes role first. But hindsight is a wonderful thing as they say.
