50 goals in 67 matches for United.

What a record! What a player!

Still a long way behind Heskey tho.

Heskey - the complete striker.

he must have one of the best goals-to-shots ratios in the league. quite simply he's one of the best strikers to play at ot in recent years.

The best I would say.

Here here!

But that had to be the easiest hat-trick he'll ever get. Two point blank range headers and a tap-in!

RUUD!!!

here's what saf had to say about ruud yesterday:

"He is one of the best in the business and I am talking the world, not just the Premier League. He is a marvellous finisher."

:D

A proper striker that is in the right place at the right time.

gerd müller only scored poacher goals and his goalscoring record is one of the best ever

That's 8 goals in the league this season (one behind league leader Zola). And he leads all EPL strikers in total goals scored for all competitions. Not too bad for a striker who's been "found out" in his second year.

In the Netherlands he would have beaten a record (I thought 44 goals by Coen Dillen) which stand from the '60 s if he didn't got the injury...

Suppose he's up there with Cantona <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

IMHO, van the man is one of THE best players ive ever seen at OT, in my book hes a United legend already.

The fact that he has so much skill would mean feck all if it wasnt for the sheer amount of hard work he puts in.

IMO he works as hard as Keano.

RAARARARARA!

Top man.

Will be one of our greatest ever goal-scorers. And he comes across as a player who loves Manchester United, not just the glory of Manchester United.

Don't know about this year, but last year Solskjaer topped that table, with something like 0.32 goals per shot. Owen was second with 0.31
Ruud wasn't near them, but then they really stood out from the pack. There's more to being a great striekr than just accuracy. You have to place yourself to score before you can take a shot. If you create more chances for yourself, it makes up for a lower goals to shot ratio.

Some scouser said anyone who thought Ole was as good as Owen was stupid.

Well overall maybe Ole isn't as good as Owen - but maybe we aren't exactly stupid either.

Everyone talks about and praises Ruud on his instinctiveness infront of goal and how he always scores the poachers goals, but I believe the one aspect he really excells in is that of holding the ball up against defenders.

He always seems to get there before the defender and holds them off brilliantly.

Definetely in the top 3 strikers in the world.
All round class act.
