Oh well, ease him back in against Maccabi then.</strong><hr></blockquote>

Would be nice, but I seriously doubt that. Just hope he's ready for Southampton - I'm going to the game...

There is no way he'll play against Haifa - Villa is clearly a much more important game and if he isn't fit for that he'll not be sent to sit on a plane for 4 hours each way midweek - hardly the best thing for a hamstring.

The problem is that the injury is beginning to look serious - would not be surprised to see him sent under the knife in the next few days.

Kinda highlights the need for another good striker....hope something gets sorted in January!

We knew this could happen before the window was shut. Why nothing was ever done then is quite suprising.

What kind of striker do you guys think Sir Alex is going to buy in the January transfer market?
Is it the target-man type ala Nistelrooy to provide a backup for Ruud, or the creator type ala Di Canio ?
If Sir Alex is going to go with the 4-5-1 formation, I think we really need another striker who play like Nistelrooy.

Fergie quoted on soccernet saying Ruud back in full training on Monday and due toplay against S'oton on Saturday. also claim he is in no rush to sign another striker (maybe we're saving up for Rooney)

I'm starting to think there maybe a little bit more to this injury than meets the eye. A tight hamstring doesn't usually take 2 or 3 weeks does it.
