if he rejected us he is definately not good enough or determined enough for united , i say this talking about his character and ambitions.

feck!! We were in for him and this is why it went quiet. Barthez was going to be replaced, and he must surely know it, and now we're stuck with a demoralised goalkeeper, and we missed out on Carini, only leaves Marcos. Wonder if anything will happen there, or if we will wait a season Ruud style and get Rustu then? Not sure I'd even want him since he's blantantly lying about the money, because he actually wants a Bosman. I don't like his attitude.

fergie wanted him as a second goalie to give barthez competition and also play when barthez constantly gets injured.

not to replacew him,
all good teams have two good keepers, with van der gow gone we need a replacement that is experienced.

Mate, Rustu is better than Barthez, and someone like him doesn't join a club to be second choice. If Alex wants him it can only have been as a replacement.

If he rejects United, he is not good enough ... already?

He said he will join on a bosman obviously for even more moolah.

So he can fund an operation for his perpetual black eyes.

When Schmeichel was our goalie did we have any doubt on him and did we need to sign anyone to challenge him? If barthez is so injury-proned he should be replaced. Squad rotation system simply won't work on goalie and we need a keeper who can constantly perform in 60+ matches a season.

Mate, how much Turkish league have you watched during the past couple of years?

The media have started a 'United keeper hunt' during the season already. So they've linked us with Rustu (who was only happy to add his own words, the great hero who rejected United for the love of Fenerbahce) and then they've decided we were battling with Arsenal for Carini.

The club meanwhile, and Sir Alex especially, have given full backing to Barthez. So who do you believe?
