Russian invasion of Ukraine | Fewer tweets, more discussion

Can we confirm it was Russians who blew it up? It's geolocated to be on the western part, where the Ukrainians were still supposedly holding it. Ukrainians have used this tactic before- mining the buildings with explosives while retreating, then blowing it up when the wagner solders enter the building.
Either way it indicates further Russian advances, no matter if the building was blown up as defence or attack.

I'd be very surprised if it wasn't the Ukrainians who blew it up after they retreated. From the video it looks like the whole bottom floor has been rigged with expolisives and I don't see any reason why Russia would blow up a captured building like that.
Only weapon I can think of that would cause an explosion like this is a mine clearing line charge like the UR-77 Meteorit but to place one of those this accuratly youd have to be incredibly lucky.

Alternate view:

I intend to agree with it, and it is pretty obvious that that is happening. Wagner has its uses for Putin, but there is no way he would make it Wagner's victory so that the public would lose "trust" in the country's official military which is tied more to Putin in a way. And why would Putin want to give any possible "good news" in UA to Prigozhin?

Might be missing something here. Is the Belorussian commander supposed to be fighting on the Ukrainian side ?
There are quite a few of Belarusians fighting for Ukraine, mostly those who were pushed out of/fled the country after 2020. Damn, was it that long ago?

Quite a large contingent of belorussians are on Ukr side, think they call themselves belorussian freedom legion or something along the lines

They are desperate to take Bakhmut (or rather completely destroy whatever is left of the western part of it) before the 9th.

“Certainly I think there is a calculation in the Kremlin that Russia is more resilient than the West,” said Thomas E. Graham, a distinguished fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, who served as senior director for Russia on the National Security Council from 2004 to 2007.

“They do think about these electoral cycles,” Mr. Graham said. “Who knows what is going to happen in 2024 in the United States? It’s not clear where the American people are on this over the long run. I think the Kremlin and Putin do believe that in that sense, time is on their side.”

Surprise surprise.

I bet Kadyrov cried behind the curtains directly to Putin to spare his tiktok army which is way too weak and pathetic to fight against Ukraine's heroic defenders. And because Putin needs him to keep Chechnya in line, he granted him that wish and ordered Shoigu to supply Wagner again.
I can't wait for Ukraine's counteroffensive, so hopefully those war criminals start blaming each other and their whole circus implodes.

Cant they just send the doubles?
If a double dies it becomes obvious that it was a double and the whole scheme can't be used any more. Using doubles is a resasonable safety measure, but it is also a calculated risk, because a dead double requires you to admit that you were scared of dying in that event. That's not what someone like Putin wants to have to do.

The Russian president too scared to show himself in Moscow. What a shambolic state that country is in.

The peak of his cowardice (so far). How they are still willing to die for him and his imperialistic ego, while he is even afraid to show himself right in front of the Kremlin at the same time is beyond my understanding. Irradiated people.

I think the blame game will happen relatively quickly once the Ukrainians unexpectedly take back more territory in a shortly time than most previously thought possible.

Sort of reinforces that the guy who walked around Mariupol recently visiting people's apartments was definitely not the real Vlad.

Peskov didn't say that though. It's a made up quote from a random account.

I wouldn't be surprised if Putin chickens out but so far the latest that Peskov has said (3 days ago) was that Putin will be there.

Thanks. It would be quite conspicuous if he weren't to show up for such a big event.
