He'll only get like a 3 month suspension but if you miss a drug test, you get 8 months. :wenger:

BTW, who the hell is Rusedski and what sport?

Tennis and brit number 2, who I like more then Henmann, because he aint henmann, whos a tit.

Henman's not a tit. :nono:

Just heard the news about Rusedski - who really gives a  about any sportsman taking drugs anymore?
Didn't they say that it was the test for the match against Roddick at Wimbledon when he got all  ? Or am I just imagining it?

Rusedski can expect a bit more than 3 months - more likely in the region of 6+. At 30 one wonders whether his days of underacheivement are over.

British No.2 Greg Rusedski has tested positive for the banned drug nandrolone. He faces an ATP hearing in Montreal on February 9.

Rusedski issued a statement confirming that a sample he provided on July 23, 2003 in Indianapolis tested positive for the drug, but insisted that he will fight to prove his innocence of doping.

Rusedski's statement read: "In response to media inquiries I confirm that I have been advised by the ATP anti-doping administrator that a sample I provided tested positive for a low concentration of nandrolone metabolites.

"I wish to make it clear that I do not and never have taken performance enhancing drugs.

"This is a very complex situation which once understood will clearly demonstrate my total innocence. There is a hearing to be held in Montreal on February 9 which I shall attend. I fully expect to be found innocent."

The former US Open finallist and world No.4 has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons and on Thursday crashed out of the AAPT Championship in Adelaide to unseeded Frenchman Cyril Saulnier 6-2 6-2.

Sky Sports tennis commentator Mark Petchey insists he cannot believe that Rusedski, whom he described as a "model professional", would resort to using drugs.

LTA national manager Petchey told Sky Sports News: "Knowing Greg for a long time he'd be the last guy that I would say would take performance-enhancing drugs.

"If it's true, it's going to be such a dark cloud over his head. I just hope that the allegations aren't proved to be true.

"He's just such a model professional. He's not a guy you'd see on the party scene. He just would not have gone anywhere near this.

"It's hugely damaging to tennis - and British tennis in particular. From an LTA point of view we were as shocked as anybody else."

With Rusedski entering what was anticipated as the final year of his career, Petchey fears for the player's on-court future.

"You get the feeling this year was going to be the final push for Greg and he was putting in the hours, putting in the work," added Petchey. "He'd felt healthy for the first time in a long time."

Bloody hell. Rusedski just made a 5 page statement, one of the points he raises is of the top 120 players on the ATP tour, 47 have tested positive for "raised levels of nandrelone".

I see he's been doing his homework then.

And where did he get those facts?

Bit of a delayed reaction there mate, anyway its pretty much accepted he did not delibratly take drugs. Looks like his story is true, so the ATP are trying to hush him up by agreeing with him and getting it over and done with.

I know it's very highly unlikely that Rusedski or Henman will win the Aussie Open, but just say that they do, do you think either of them would be investigated about drugs just because they unexpectedly won?
